Default RC4wd TrailFinder 2 Class 1 truck build. "Money"

So i was afforded the opportunity by the Great people at RC4WD to build and Let everyone know whats going with the BRAND NEW Trailfinder 2 class 1 scale kit from RC4WD. So here goes...

Unbelievable box art! full color and glossy.

Manuals are easy to read and don't have any mumbo jumbo(words) to confuse you...Kind of reminded me of Lego instructions.

Even the new Mojave body had a box and instructions of its own!!

The packaging was very impressive, i immediately tore it open and to my surprise, individual packaging!

All labeled to avoid any confusion.

So i set forth and began building, one thing that immediately noticed was the machine work on the chassis, the cnc tolerances are amazing!! all of the parts fit together with absolutely no slop!

new skid

totally digging this new shock hoop as well

New 2 speed transmission-has two side ears that make mounting to the chassis easy!

cast scale Yota axle

1.5 wagon wheels

1.5 mud thrashers- the compound seems perfect for the tire size. nice and sticky

And here we are all assembled

Dashboard comes fully detailed with vents, a steering column and even a speaker grill on the dash.

Oh yeah, and this little treasure.

Option A for use with bed as a class one setup

Option B for use with flatbed or truggy for a killer class two setup

Stickers also include many important interior musts!

Lots of chrome

Body parts bag

3 spoke steering wheel with excellent detail!

Wipers and Mirrors

Blinkers, corners, square lights

such detail

dropbedd is the perfect height for that camper top or loading up the back.

So with the chassis completed my attention went to getting this thing thing squirted...and even though i am highly capable in color application, i chose a close friend of mine..Reid Revilla of Hi-Line Distributors. Lots of people think they know what it takes to apply a Professional Coat, but Reid is a Mad scientist when it comes to types of adhesion, color selection and process. but hey, pics do ALL the talking.(Many thanks again to Hi-Lne for the blessing in Dupont Materials and Reid for the amazing paint job)

Wait, what? White?? Why? trade secret, hahaha.

Laid down the base, looks good already right? NOT!

AHHH! thats right clear coat!!
Seriously, pictures do no justice...this is amazing.

2 speed shifter setup, shift smooth and is durable.

Prior to the wires

Voila!! guts installed

some extra attachments that wouldn't upload directly
Attachment 185551
fuel cell/ radio box(daub of silicone will proof up your receiver and BEC in a jiffy!
Attachment 185552
firm foams for excellent side bolstering
Attachment 185550
2 speed transmission with smaller atlas t-case and HD gears with a solid intermediate shaft
Attachment 185549
plastic bumpers and sliders
BTW:rus thanks for the idea on the name.."MONEY" haha

Next up, detail the body and final assembly in kit form..then TEST AND TUNE!!! vids soon to follow.

Actual color name is "synergy green". Used on the new camaro. Metallic size seemed fine so this color is exactly what's on the cars from general motors.
Kila, you're welcome, I considered it a privelege to have my hands on a body that nobody else has seen yet. Also having the freedom to do whatever I wanted with it was kinda fun.

decided on going with the stock bumper with painted end caps to simulate the plastic on the real thing.

Worked on the body assembly tonight, everything went together like Legos.

And soon thereafter...

have to unload the camera again but for now, phone pics!!
My next plan is to relocate the shift servo and build in a seat and a trans hump with a floor.
plus a few RC4WD upgrades on the way!!

I figured out a completely new configuration for the inner workings, shift servo relocation, receiver relocation, and i get to keep my floor flat. ill show you what i mean once i get it close to presentable.
