I got the box tonight but won't be able to get into it until Saturday. I'm really excited and hope to fill it with some serious goodies. Stay tuned! Last edited by Locked Up; 11-02-2012 at 04:59 PM. |

And so it begins... All the thumbs: Thumbnails Opening the box the first thing I notice is that I like the layout of the parts. The instructions are pretty simple and easy enough to follow and I'm happy to report there were no surprises. I took the tranny and transfer case out and I like em! The transfer case looks really sweet and operation of both units is very smooth. Following the instructions is, as I said earlier, really simple. I took pictures after each set of steps but honestly, there isn't much reason for me to repost them all in this thread, so I'll just post a few... One thing I did differently from the instructions is that I assembled both sides together. The instructions have you attach all the cross members and such to one side first, then go back and add the other rail. I didn't and it was probably more difficult for me because of it. As I said the t-case & trans are really nice... Pretty much fully assembled other than electronics: My plans are an FXR, 35 or 45t motor, servo winch, full interior, ccBEC and a 3s 1600 30c lipo. Servos are Towerdpro MG946rs and running at 7v should put out over 210 in/oz. One thing I will make a big deal of is the tires. They feel AWESOME and VERY sticky. And I am impressed that there is no shortage of spare parts. I dropped the body on just for kicks and I think it's gonna look bad arse! I'm going to finish up the electronics in the morning then pick up some acrylic paint. Our weather has been horrible though so I may have to hold off on paint for a little while. Either way, I'll try to get some action shots up as soon as I can. Overall, I'm impressed with the fit and finish of everything. Like I said, no surprises and when you are building a kit that is awesome! Thanks RC4WD! Last edited by Locked Up; 11-02-2012 at 05:00 PM. |

I'm thinking ... yellow! I tend to have a "sunburst" addiction though .... we'll see what happens... |

I've been fighting a wicked cold and have missed 2 days of work and was in bed most of the weekend. Awesome. So today I felt a little better and I finally got the body parts assembled & got the initial primer coat down on the TF2. I'm going to have to go back over the back of the cab to fill a few small gaps but no big deal. Hopefully I can get it painted for Saturday! |

And you two got the last 2 Preorders as well!!! I was hoping to get the TF2 painted for tomorrow's local comp but it's been raining constantly. Guess I need to convince the wife that the guest room would make a good paint booth.... Luckily we have a 3 day weekend and I should be able to get it knocked out if I can get one day of decent weather. |

| Re: Locked Up's RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Build Thread SCORE! I haven't even thought about paint colors yet, I'll let the other TF owners be my inspiration . On a side note, will there be any heads up when the kits are on thier way? Also, will there be a lighting kit available? These would look sweet bombing around at night all lit up! |
