| Capabilities?
Ok I have been looking at all the builds and I'm seriously debating getting one of these bad boys. I just want to know the capabilities of one. Who has pushed theirs to the limit crawling. I have a scx10 and like how it performs. I notice a little less flex but is it just as capable? Thank you |

Its as capable as a leafer will be. Completely different in its actions on the trails opposed to a SCX10. I personally love leaf based rigs it presents a better challenge and a more accurate representaition of scale trail riding. I will be getting a TF2 as soon as they are available. I am floored that Tamiya Relaesed the Bruiser but man for the price I can grab a TF2, and running gear and some hop ups for the same price. I dunno, just ranting I guess. I will be adding rear shackles, CVDs, and a winch. I have likely not answered your question...lol.. |

lol. ya, sorry. If you have someone around with a leaf based rig to try that may help however with some basic mods a leaf based rig can flex with the best of them. Bone stock the TF2 seems to be the happy medium with scale looks and performance from what I have seen in the videos. Its a no brainer for me, you cannot build something like this for 399$ from parts... Should be fun.. = ) ...

I have pushed mine pretty hard, and it is a very capable rig out of the box, Yes a leaf spring truck usually has less flex that a linked truck, but a lot of that flex is overrated and less flex with a stable truck will give you better more predictable driving, I have had a few other scratch built leaf trucks and this one performs great. |

Could someone do me a favor. I really want to see a video of the difference between first and second gear. I haven't seen any of you using second. I would assume that most if the videos are first gear since they are climbing videos. Thank you. |

I don't have video of it yet, But it is a big jump between low gear and high gear. I'm pretty sure most of the videos that have been made so far have been done with the tf2's in high gear. The low gear ratio is just that...LOOOWWWW. It is straight up creaper gear and I'm running a 35t on 3S. I'll get some footage tonight of the comparison |

I'm pretty sure it was Dready who posted a vid that showed the high and low gear and the overall "noise" of the truck.

I was also reading, looking and DROOLING over this truck! The only thing that makes me have second thoughts are the 1.55's. Just wondering how much the smaller (but more scale looking) tires would limit it's offroad abilities.

| Re: Capabilities? Just cause it comes with 1.55's doesnt mean you have to keep 1.55's. Quite a few of the guys have put 1.9 wheels and taller tires on them and they look awesome. Besides, there are plenty of 1.55" tires that come in at 4.1~" tall and that is almost maximum height allowed for Class 1 scaler.

I wouldn't let a little thing like kit tires stop me from buying one, just wanted to know how they do "out of the box". I forsee lots of TF2 parts ending up in custom builds.
