Default Neil's Premature TF2

Premature because no one knows when the first batch is shipping, but my money has been paid so..........

Started gathering parts and ideas.

- Savox SC-1258TG
- Hitec Ultra Micro HS-55
- Tekin FXR with a 4S mod
- HH Torquemaster 35T
- 1.9 RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs
- 1.9 RC4WD Silver PRO10s
- Dinky RC Yota Interior
- Scale Bench Seat for Mojave Body
- RC4WD XVD axles for Yota Axles
- Scale Asian style Hubs
- Scale Rear Hubs
- Spare tire and wheel
- Dinky RC Yota 3 Window Shell

Still need a winch, plan on a basic 3Racing with a Heyok controller.

Decided to copy the sliders in steel but to start fresh on the bumper idea (if they work out) and go with a Warn Style Yota front and rear similar to these:

Color is going to be a stock 83 yota Metallic Silver, similar to this:

I am thinking through the mechanics of making an opening Tailgate (did it on another Hilux Build, but the shell hatch part is worrying me. but it is an idea.

Cool color choice and a nice parts list.

Are you going to have a 1.55 setup as well?

Killer parts list, Neil. Last I heard, our TF2's were going through customs so it won't be long. I'm looking forward to seeing your creation, and building mine!

I am planning on keeping the 1.55s but the MTZs are 4.19" tall so still class one.

Cool, last time I talked to Cory he still had just the Mid Feb to Late Feb estimate. Another clubie preordered early too so his should also be in the first batch. I think at least one more clubie is planning on buying one. If the damn Temp would get above 50 and stay awhile I would go buy some Argon/CO2 mix and get to work but it is just too cold to huddle in front of a heater.

We need to do a cross the border event with NIRC and you guys sometime this spring of summer. We have been looking for a reason for a road trip.

Either a comp or scale fun run would be great . We might be able to put something together with the WiRCRC locals as the weather gets more "rc friendly". Till then I'll be anxiously awaiting for the TF2 goodness to arrive!

Nice start for your build. I'd start one too but my girlfriend hates when I'm premature...

I thought if I controlled myself and just dribbled a little at a time I would be ok.

That's great news! Hopefully LockedUpRC will be shipping mine soon also. I normally don't jump at every new thing to hit the market, but this one was just too cool to pass up .

Ordered mine at 4pm today from RPP and received an e-mail that my order has been shipped. Now thats what i call service plus free shipping.
Have a Tekin RS Pro & Tekin 13.5 laying around and wondering if that will work or if it would be overkill. Wish i knew what i was doing.

Since Tuesday is almost here and I have all but one of my parts, I wanted to update this

- Savox SC-1268TG
- Hitec Ultra Micro HS-55
- Tekin FXR with a 4S mod
- CCBec 10A
- HH Crawlmaster 20T
- 1.9 RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs
- 1.9 RC4WD Silver PRO10s
- Dinky RC Yota Interior
- Dinky Yota Steering Wheel
- Scale Bench Seat for Mojave Body
- RC4WD XVD axles for Yota Axles
- Scale Asian style Hubs
- Scale Rear Hubs
- Spare tire and wheel
- Dinky RC Yota 3 Window Shell
- 3Racing Winch with Heyok controller on it's way from the frozen north
- a handful of scale accessories
- a shitpot full of steel sheet, steel bar, steel rod and steel tube to make some more scale stuff

Going tomorrow to see if I can score a 2 part touch up kit from Toyota in the metallic silver. If not, probably going with the GM pewter.

Really no reason to do a build thread in detail as the team drivers have pretty well covered that.

Here it is assembled, XVDs installed, Savox SC1268TG Steering Servo installed, HH 20T Crawlmaster installed, Electronics box moved to rear, shift servo in a posistion (not sure it will stay, may flip it if I can figure out how too position it).

I didn't have the 1.9 hexes and RC4WD and RPP are out, so stock tires and rims for now. Die-Laughing had a set he is sending me so there is a picture at the end of the stock 1.55 Mud Thrashers beside the 1.9 MTZs.

Moved the front shocks to behind the axle as recommended by Die-Laughing, with the XVDs I have mad steering. Running helpers leafs in the front.

I didn't do nothing man! I just put mine together today so, I learned a few tips/tricks.

I'll get them hexes in the mail so we can see what them tires look like mounted up. I'm still deciding on tires.
