I like it! Of course the undercarriage has to match though.

This is the first time I've seen this salt trick used - can you give me more info? Paint - add salt when paint is wet - let paint dry - rinse salt off? It looks great, not too much.

You got it Just spray a heavy coat then add salt. does not hurt to spray back over the salt, then when dry the salt is rinsed or sanded out. There is a million ways you can do this for different effects. just got to play around with it....

Well got her test runnin today. I got the Novak Eiger with 35t motor. Everything works O.K. except it is faster in Reverse...weird. Gonna call Novak to see whats up. High and low gears shift better than I thought. May have to go with just the Main spring in the rear. Hopefully this weekend I can get the paint job done.

wow, that turned out great!
Although, with that must rust I doubt it's trail worthy... your floor boards are gonna fall out!

Hey its what's under the hood that counts....if the hood stays on..... Still a lot to do...details deatils...Oh Novak said that the timing on the Rockstar is 25 forward...30 reverse. He said that is the way it is built. Atleast I know its O.K.

Woah.. The illusion is good enough that I find myself bummed out to see a yota rusted out like that! Pretty cool! But I agree that the chassis need the same treatment.

that rust turned out very realistic, good job. as for the rockstar brushed motor it has adjustable timing and the 25 and 30 makes no sense (likely for the brushless motors not brushed). whats best is to set for 0 timing which is usually when the screws for the endbell line up right in-between the 2 motor mounting holes in the can and then adjust it a hair for more forward speed.

Yeah.... still lots to do..This kit is pretty bad ass... I did fry a cheap traxxas servo I was using for the 2 sp tranny. My Traxxas Controller does not allow me to adjust endpoints on the 3rd channel. Oh Well....fix that later. I can still just move the servo arm between gears and it stays put...As for the timing on the Novak motor...never mess around with that before..may just leave it for now....

Just ordered a set of 1.55 Rock Stompers. The stock tires are too small for my driving style, need more GC. (broke both side mirrors today...oh well)

You are the TF2 master! I love how you went in the other direction, not showroom fresh (no offence to any of the "pretty" paintjobs out there). Mine just got it's first taste of primer. Let us know how you like the new meats when you get them. Again, outstanding job .

Looks good.. I've used that sophisticated finish on a jeep before. I took a dremel diamond tip and made a few holes here and there in the spots more likely to rust out and with the rust holes it looks totally real. I also heated and dented a few spots and rusted around the edge of the dents where the paint chipped.. You took it to a whole other level.. It totally looks like it was in a fire.. I think if you dremeled so holes in the quarter panels and at the bottom of the doors it would look more used and abused.. Not burnt. That's just my .02 .. The finish works great and holds up nicely to trail abuse. Just be careful because anything it touches will have rust on it. Clothes, car seats .. Whatever ..lol.. Keep up the creative thinking I'm gonna subscribe for sure

Well with the new Rock Stompers 1.55 and a little trimming...this rig is ten times better in my book. I crawled right up my 1989 Dodge Pickup Windsheild...no problem. I also got more up travel by taking off the under part of the front under the bumper...whatever its called. Shackles were hitting the body now they bottom out on the Frame. Got Pics and a little Vid coming....
