picked up my kit yesterday and we have a roller as of last night, its a well made/thought out kit good job rc4wd i wont bother with the assembly pics but i,ll post up the few mods i did and the flex shots, basically did the chino mod to the leafs, added shooter shackles, made some shims to get a better pinion angle on the rear axle, and took the springs out of the shocks and put 20wt in. still need to choose a motor and esc i,m thinking 27t or maybee a 35 and a mamba max as i have one laying around, i have an ace 1313 servo good for 176oz installed which might be ok for the smaller tires and then paint and i might use an aluminum body, i dunno i have sitting here but the dude isnt makeing them anymore..tough call but worthy rig i think. heres some pics leaf before the chino mod and after shims to correct the pinion angle off the rear axle can also see how the shooter shackles work random shot or 2 and a body option lots to do gonna make steel bumpers, interior and driver..etc more to come and thanx for looking Last edited by vonclod; 03-22-2012 at 09:38 PM. |

| Re: vonclods tf2 yes the body is made of aluminum, i believe its 33gauge. very cool if you want a realistic looking rig that gets real battle damage on the trails and rocks stu from aluminum rc bodies was makeing them but doesnt have the time anymore, too bad as they were affordable check out the metal masher if you wanna see some crazy aluminum work Last edited by vonclod; 03-22-2012 at 08:51 PM. |

Rims look great on it! Just needs yota/aisin hubs. And I vote for running the aluminum body. This is definitely a worthy rig for it! Just drive carefully |

Sweet build vonclod!! I'm just finishing mine up today but one thing I noticed when the body is mounted the front shackles hit the lower valance limiting articulation really bad. I see guys flipping the shackles around so the fixed part is in the front which also seems like it would make the front articulate better, what are you doing there and do those shooters give a good bit more flex? Thanks man

thanx guys here,s a short clip..test run..i should add filmed by 4mods..thanx dude i havent flipped the shackles on the front yet and ya they do hit the valence which i will trim down a bit anyway along with a bit of the lower front fender for tire clearance..i think the rear flexes pretty good with the shooters, overall i,m pretty happy with it as is but just getting started, i have the bruiser bits to flip the fronts though..right now waiting for a ubolt kit and stuff for the interior..would love to find some chino military wraps but thats probably not gonna happen. also might make a tracbar setup..and if it will stay sunny for more than 20 mins i will shoot some paint..lol, still undecided on copper or root beer, or 2 tone..i hate picking colours cheers Last edited by vonclod; 04-06-2012 at 09:29 PM. |

Great pics of the Chino Mod and spring/axle shims. Now I understand the Chino mod.
