Question axle upgrade options

im looking to upgrade from the yota axles but i dont have the $250 for a set of any rc4wd axles that will bolt right in. what other options do i have. i have a set of ax10 axles that almost fit. has anyone here just experimented with this.

im trying to upgrade for strength since ive already had to rebuild my stock tf2 yota axles 3 times. i will say i use mine hard. but there is nothing but extreme rock (even on our easy trails) and i use this truck for our local g6 events too. it get run really hard.

If you wanna play like a sport, you gotta pay like a sport

The Yota axles are pretty awesome, not sure why you'd need to change.

strength is why im wanting to replace. out here we go hard. and im the only person who runs a tf2 with the scx10s out here. i show them up on the tighter stuff but then they turn that on me on other situations.

My point is that with properly shimmed gears and maybe some XVD's I can't see how you'd nuke stuff unless you're running gooey 2.2's on 3S with zero regard.

I lust after a set of the new GCM A-13 Metalhead axles...mmmmmmm BURLY and scale, but some cash.

Maybe some cut down wraith axles?

im running pitbulls w/ a tekin 35t hand wound. im on my now third set of gears shimmed properly. everytime i go to order xvds they go out of stock. 7 runs now and i like the advantage of the narrow width but EVERY time i take it out i have an axle issue. and im sure im one of only a couple who use there tf2 as hard as i do.

just curious but what kinda terrain do you run yours in.

I tried it already. To do it the leaf springs need to be moved outboard

rcbros and i think gcm sell leaf spring mounts to adapt the axial axle mounting points to the tf2/tamiya highlift width.

To put the Axial axles under the TF2 just cut 1/8" thick plate to the correct size. Drill two holes to bolt it to the axles and drill and tap two more holes to bolt the leafs to.
