3 TF2's in the Maine Woods

Despite the misty weather and sprinkles, Josh and Mark swung by this morning to try out a few of the new lines here at the Farm. The loamy soil between the rocks is a real test of any tires ability to shed muck. Josh's TF2 is fully linked and running the 1.9" Crushers. Mark is running leaf packs and the 1.55 Stompers. I'm still stock. Grip wise the Mud Thrashers are super until they pack up. Both have the luxury of a bobbed bed for some of the steeper climbs.

Josh had just finished the link setup in the front and really needs to bring the truck down in height. He's swapping to the single spring in each and a bit heavier shock weight. Should bring things out of the clouds and keep performance high up.








My driver's rear spring popped off the frame mount and I had bent the spring a bit....hence the great flex ;)

Nice – I spent most of my life living in New England, and I went to school in Portland Maine, so that wet fall weather brings back memories. So thanks for the memories.

I thought I was going to get mugged by Chickens when I showed up. Peep (I think her name was) walked up to me looked me in the eye and just went CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK CLUCKKKKK!

It was good to see Duncan Dog again too.



That was some slippery stuff. Tires just packed up and then there was very little traction on the wet rocks. We should try it again at the beach tomorrow...Wait Hurricane will be here... That would be some interesting pictures.

The tire height between your Trashers and my Stompers while seeming a big difference did not make much of a difference. There wasn't anything i was able to make that your rig couldn't if I remember correctly. Josh's link setup did definitely have an advantage though. But he has links... so it doesn't count .

Still amazed at these TF2's They are holding up great and are so fun and scale to run. I do have to add the castle bec to mine though. Servo was struggling today. Funny I just posted in the last day or two that i thought the current servo was working good. It was with the stronger BEC of the HH BRXL. But the XL-5 has a week bec and it's not up to the shift servo and steering a crawler/scaler.

Yes that is shortening of the bed front to rear. One of the issues with the Toyotas both in RC and in Full size are the bed hangs out past the rear tires quite a bit. When climbing, the bed can drag one the ground as you drive up onto an obstacle. A popular mod in the full size, which trickles down to rc is to shorten the bed. Take about a foot off of a full size or an inch off of a rc and the bed hangs up much less if at all. It is just cutting an inch or so from the bad and moving the tailgate, etc up and re attaching with glue, etc.

If you look in the first picture you will see my green/tan camo TF2 and Toz's orange and white TF2 both facing the same direction. Notice how much less bed there is hanging past the rear tires on the green and tan one. That is due to the bed bob.

Good point, that does hang out a long way. Looks like the stock bumpers can still be made to fit too.

Yeah, Josh's rig has the stock bumper on it.

Mine had it too till the frame bumper mount broke

You can kinda see it in this pic, at least that it is mounted. My tailgate is right up against the frame.
