Are you running it on 4s?

I have 4s capabilities.. but not sure how the rig would take it?

CC SCT Sidewinder ESC
27T HH Torque Master Pro
Futaba 3004 shift servo
Futaba 3004 steering servo
CC BEC
3300 MAH 2S

I noticed lots of you guys run 3S - I take it the drive train can handle this? My HH 27T on 2S is fairly quick and I'm worried about tearing up diff's. I'd be surprised to see what it's cape able of on 3S

Go with tekin. Out of those 2 choices.. At the price, you could get a HH..

First and foremost my tf2 is powered by money.

More specifically the individual components would be as follows:

Tekin 35t Fx-R combo (plasti dipped)
SAVOX sw-1210 sg 4096 digital coreless metal gear waterproof servo (for steering)
SAVOX sw-0230 mg waterproof metal gear servo (for shifting)
Spektrum SR-300wp 3ch waterproof receiver
Venom NIMH 5000 MaH stick packs (plasti dipped)
bulldog 9300xt wireless controller board removed from plastic housing with fm receiver antenna added on and plasti dipped.

oh yeah! and 4 rechargeable NIMH 9 volt batteries from radio shack for auxiliary light power.....

I like HH BRXL, I have five of them and they have been great. But I hear too many people here complaining that their HH motors need brushes after a month or so so I'm a little hesitant. I've got some two year old Novak 35T going strong on the same brushes.

I'm assuming they had sport or expert motors maybe? Or geared too high, etc..

I ran my 35t torquemaster pro on 4s for Well over a year, brushes were good still(I bought it used from the get go)..
Same with a 16t crawlmaster pro.. Only ran that for a couple months or so and then my friends brood's died in his comp rig(after 2 season's and lots of packs) so i pulled it and it went with its match and in his xr.. He's still running them motors and that was last year..

I just got a new TF2 - blew my budget so I'm sticking with cheap electronics for now. I'm going with the 35t RCWD crawler motor - anyone used the cheap ebay brushed escs "320a" escs for $10-15 on ebay?

Yes, I've used three of those in diff. projects, two being boats, and yes they did get wet. I've yet to have any issues with them so far. It's been a while since I've ran them but they have yet to disappoint me. I only got them to get the vehicles running and nothing more, but they are still in all of the car and boats I've put them in. Hey if nothing more they're great starter ESC's to get you up and running.

Thanks for the info- I felt they should be ok for high wind brushed motors for crawlers. Few questions - how are the brakes? strong or weak? is reverse double pump? and do they power high torque servos well?

I'm trying to find one with a lipo cutoff - the ebay ones are 5v cutoff which is useless for lipos - only cheap esc I've seen with this is the hobbyking x-motor.

My tf2 should be on its way I need to order the electronics soon! I have a 17.5t novak club sensored brushless system lying around which I may try out in the meantime.

Well the car that the ESC is in, the brakes work fine, obviously there's no drag brake. It locks the wheels up on an approx. 3 - 4lb Tamiya 1/12 scale when needed. The rigs I have are Nimh powered. I'd maybe try and get an external lipo alarm maybe? Couldn't say how it would act if it were a heavier rig. From what I remember there is a delayed reverse. I haven't used it with any high tq servos seeing as these are light vehicles. Truth be told I didn't think I'd have them this long

I opened the hatch on my tug boat once to find it soaking wet with standing water all around it and it never missed a beat since. Like I mentioned, its something to at least get you started, and if it burns up, you're only out 15 bucks lol!

quick update - I got the integy 35t motor (the rc4wd 35t was out of stock everywhere) and the $10 hobbyking xmotor brushed esc which is working great - I'm extremely happy with the compact size, smooth throttle and the built in lipo cutoff - you cant beat the price!

me too I had to spend another $5+ shipping for trinity gold motor leads (hate soldering) since esc attachments did not come with the motor. I'm quite happy with the integy though.

I have the rc4wd 35t up for preorder with my gelande 2 at tower so will be good to compare the two.
