Tamiya TS series paints work well with proper priming. In fact, with proper prep, any spray paint will work well.

I use a combination of Kneadatite, and Squadron White for filling.

I used Model Masters hobby grade laquer based primer and paint on mine. Check the Paint and Body section for more info.

You can. I think it's Krylon Fusion that's designed for plastic. High quality primer from Tamiya is infinitely better than anything from Home Depot though, as it's designed for their smaller static kits primarily, and goes on thin and smooth.

I'm thinking of leaving mine unpainted (stock yellow) - any advantages/disadvantages to leaving it like this?

If I am going to paint - i'll probably stick with yellow...but I'd rather not paint the entire body and mess it up!

Rustoleum plastic primer with Rustoleum flouresent yellow, and yes of course Rustoleum clear coat. The bed liner is Rustoleum textured green. Then rust-all to age it all out.

I use duplicate color perfect match automotive paint with great success with a good primer underneath. If u go this route u have access to some nice pearls and metallics. Only way I roll

Hi guys - I really like the yellow so I'm going with the Tamiya Spray Lacquer TS-34 Camel Yellow.

I have one question though - if I am painting yellow and the body is already molded in yellow plastic, do I need primer?

If so I'll be getting the Tamiya Spray Surface Primer/Plastic Metal - if not then I'd rather save the 7 dollars... Thanks in advance for the help!

Thats what I did, just went to Lowe's and bought their good primer and a good white enamel, I then got a gloss (clear). I sanded and prepped the body in stages too, from 600-800 grit to 1200 to like 2000, got rid of all the flashing from the molding. I used the Tamiya putty to fill in the little cracks in the cab on the back part of the cab.

I have got alot of compliments on the paint from the club. (WCRCC). Wish i can post pics, but you need to reg., to see the pics on their site.
