Default Non painted mojave body

Oh, so here is the deal.. I suck at painting and I don't like it for the same reason.

So, will my TF2 still look scale if I leave it white?

I think so. And it won't look weird showing a different color under the paint when you scratch it.
I like painting though. So I always do it. But to each their own.
Post pics when your done with it.

They only come in yellow with the TF2 kit. RC4WD has white and primered body sets as an alternative.

I would like to know why they chose yellow for the kit. Other than to get a few people to spend an extra $105 for the better looking colors.

It would be great if the kit came in primer grey
so when rocks scratch through your chosen color
the damage would be more scale...

As it is reflected with the prices on their website, the yellow body sets are cheaper. But you're right, why did they make them yellow when Tamiya's stuff is white for the same price? I guess maybe to avoid legal actions from Tamiya?

You could always make a metal body..

So true. I hate seeing yellow under the scratches of my black paint.

I don't know how the RC4WD body sets would handle this, but maybe you could try dying the body like you can with 1/8th scale buggy wheels.

Good thing about it being black is that all you need to bring is a black Sharpie. There's your touch-up "paint"

Also, check out Metal Masher here on RCC. He has done more than just Hilux bodies.

I was thinking the same thing with my yellow molded body but decided to paint it as it still looks a little too much like plastic. Maybe wax etc would have helped to bring out a some metallic gloss but I'm no painting expert and decided to just follow from some guides online. Right now the body is sitting sanded and smooth ready to get a primer coat- too bad the weather has been cold/rainy for the past couple of days...
