Default tf2 axles help

I have been looking for a write up on how to shim the ring and pinion and cant find it. I know I saw it in here somewhere and now I cant find it. I blew out the front end gears after the pinion bearing gave out so I need to fix it up. I got the parts but I dont want to get it back together and have troubles. Thanks

There should be two washers on your pinion shaft. One sits under the pinion gear on the inside of the axle housing, the other should be on the outside, located under the C ring that goes into the groove on the pinion shaft. This one should be thicker than the one on the inside of the housing. Switch them around, meaning, put the thicker of the two washers on the inside portion of the shaft. That's what I did two years ago when building my TF-2 at the advise of others on this forum. I haven't had any failures.

Also, see TF-2 tips and tricks, page #2, post #32.
