yes i meant the bed topper, canopy is what we call it here in SA sorry. And yes i saw on the rc4wd that they have them, what i meant is that its a nice tight fit, molded quite good i think. I actually like the green one more then the red one...but that's just me.

Good job bud

Cheers mate. Yeh the topper is a great fit, i think its even called the tight fit topper. Unless it rolls it should stay in place without any aid.

I seriously like the green one too, but like my kids I love them both equally

I'm so close to finishing this shell now, just those damn rear light clusters and a toyota badge for the back.
Popped into maplins today to get heat shrink for the chassis re-wire and found these 9v battery boxes, hmmmm that gives me an idea. A bit of paint and hot glue and I've got my lights power supply and switched too.

Cheers bud, really pleased.

Yeeeeeeeeeee anyway I cracked on and painted the rear lenses.

Then experimented with the shut lines. I simply used a normal grey felt tip, ran it up and down, let it over run then simply wiped off the smooth surface with me fingers, worked a treat. Don't expect to last but it looks fine right now.

Cheers guys, I recon the green will get the most use, as its there to be bashed

So got my paint today, tamiya Light Sand TS-46 and Tamiya Nato Brown TS-62.

They looked right in the shop, and luckily on the interior too.

Progress so far, seat, doors, centre console all done with carpet too.

Well I've stuck at it tonight, and pretty much done it in one hit paint wise. I could have taken longer I guess but theres only a couple of bits that could have a bit more detail really.........it'll do lol.

Looking fantastic. I was so torn between a multi colored or solid color dash, went with solid Nato brown. Almost wish I had done the same as shown here.

Understood. My entire shell is the light tan T46. It's an eye caching color IMO.

Both bodies came out amazing man! Now I'm set on cutting the front and bobbing the bed around to where yours is. Great work and write up

Cheers bud. Glad it inspired you. The red one of mine was inspired by a builder called Delux, and the green was inspired by my friends.......so we all get it from somewhere

Great job on the interior. I love the detailing on the radio and switchgear. Good call also on the 2-tone. Back in the 80s, that was how you knew you had something.

A little thing I've been toying with doing as I've never seen actually done (nowt special though) was to paint the shadow gap of the bed and cab. These are two separate parts yet we always paint that middle bit between them the same color as the shell.
Well tonight I took the plunge and painted it :jawdrop: lol. So if you've ever thought of doing it......this is how it looks.
