Default 2 stage TF2

I'm doing this build in two stages.

First up was a rapid and complete build done over 4 evenings last week to get a rig ready for the UK RRCI Scale nationals which went like this.

Night 1... Build rolling chassis
Night 2... Fit and set up electrics, inc 2 speed and winch
Night 3... Paint main colour of shell...... with what I had in the cupboard
Night 4... Paint the details

It received the following mods/hop ups out of the box

Scale drive shafts, cvds, 1.7 rims and tyres, steel sliders and bumper, modified rc4wd scx10 front bumper, mt hubs,

A couple of pics

Then this last weekend was the actual event which was 3 days of pure RC fun.

So that's last week and the past. Now the shell is getting rubbed down and a full proper respray. I'm chopping the grill and front wheel arches back to the height of the grill itself, new Steel bumper and fitting the RC4WD topper. I'm also going to have bobbed bec, so it's one for scale and one for comping.

I'm taking inspiration from Delux's ute build though it's the pre-ute version.

I will be back with progress

Stage 2

Ok so over the last couple of days I've sanded back the shell to remove the scratches and drinks from the Nats weekend and got to sawing and the respray.

Gonna have to leave it a couple of days to set now I guess.

Exterior detailing is almost all done now. Just the badges, rear light cluster black sections to do and the topper to paint.

I'll be starting the interior detailing soon.

Good colour that Bill, nice job.
I reckon it needs round headlamps personally.

Cheers Neil, your absolutely right and I've a few items being watched in my eBay right now..........just being tight.

A bit more done tonight. Got the topper painted in halfords white plastic primer (its final colour) which gives a nice flat white with a little texture, tailgate for it is done too.
Side bumper stripes fitted and the little hilux badges.

Now painting the rear light clusters which I'm hating doing

PS thanks damo for the front indicator lense B)

Looking good! I like those wheels and tires with it and the re-paint scheme looks really well done.

Tinsey bit more done, got Gail chopped in half and fitted a Don_Jar Hilux Snorkel. I was dubious about the snorkel as most pics show them on the other side but some googling showed they are fitted on either.

Now just waiting for my interior bits and bobs to show up.

next RCBitz installment had arrived.

White 1.55 rims with the slim hex fitment as a bolt on with the mud slingers on, every little helps tucking the wheels under.

Superlift steering stabilizer.

Looks outstanding. You gave me the great idea for a single tube bumper as well. Looks great on that truck.
