| Leaf spring questions...
Hey guys. I posted in an earlier thread that I ordered the kit after lurking here forever. Finally got it and having fun with the build so far. Anyway, leaf spring questions: 1. Should I do all 3 on each axle? Seems to be an optional thing so wasn't too sure. I saw in the tips thread that somebody suggested using all 3 to prevent the leafs from getting bent. I also saw where somebody mentioned they soften up over time. FWIW, I'll mostly be trail driving with just a small amount on the rocks. 2. Should I put the smaller leafs on the bottom like on 1:1 trucks? |

i don't have a tf2 but I have a trail stomper and it has two leafs with the smaller one on bottom front and rear. I use it for trail runs mostly but I do have a few small rock piles to play on also and I'm happy with the performance. The leafs will get softer with some use so just drive it for a bit and if it doesn't work the way you want after a few runs then start taking out or adding leafs.

I would start with the main leaf and the second longest one under that

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Yes they do bed in nicely after a few hours. They will bend at some point, but you just remove and bend back to shape by hand and eye. I would use the larger leaf helper under the front ones and leave the rear as just the leaf. Once they soften with running you can add more if required. |

Thanks everybody. I was done building for the night right at this point and thought I'd ask you all first. I don't really have any friends that are into RC so it's nice to be able to bounce ideas off people here.

I use the main leaf with the shortest helper underneath on the front and for the rear I have the main with the middle length one underneath it. Perfect ride height and articulation for me.
