| Re: 4 speed tf2 update Bearing mod for yota axles This will work for tf2 (yota axles) and gelande (yota 2 axles) instructions will be a little different. Will need to buy 4-3x6x2.5 flanged bearings 4-longer bolts then stock knuckle hardware Take the front axle apart, get a 15/64 drill bit drill the bushing holes in the knuckles (I don’t drill all the way through), on the tf2 knuckles I cut the bushings down and put them on the inside of the knuckle, on the yota 2 axle I take the bottom bushing and put it on the top and cut down the top bushing and put it in the bottom so it sits between the housing and the knuckle. Then take a flanged bearing put one on the top and the bottom side of the knuckle and put the bushings in, get a longer bolts then the stock ones and mock it up, mark the bolt as close to the housing as you can, take it back apart cut the bolts down so they will make up for the extra height of the flange on the bearing and will catch all the thread on the housing to help them from stripping out and will be stronger. Put the axle shaft in and put the knuckle on and make sure the bolt doesn’t contact the axle shaft. If everything is good put the axle back together and Loctite the bolts and you should be good to go. |

Yep it will be at gsrcc 19, and the 4 speed is working out great super low to technical spots, mid two gears for normal crawling, high for just going fast and sandy spots,

Quick tip: use leaf spring shims to get your pinion angle right, then use second set on top of leafs to make the screws sit flat and adds more support so the leafs don't bent and break as easy.

Yeah I miss this truck, the Helios doesn't bolt right up but isn't to hard to make it work, the hardest part is making the coupler between the transmission and it. Bearing mod definitely worth doing.
