| My TrailFinder II
So, just to give a short history on me and my rc crawlers, I have only been into them for about 2 years, so I'm still a noob at it... I have been building scale model kits forever, I have literally hundreds of them built, some have even won awards at local shows, I also have several hundred if not even maybe a thousand un-built and a lot of unopened kits, lots of old collectables too. I own an automotive here in Utah where I live and I've been into 1:1 rockcrawlers and offroad rigs forever also, I have a fairly built Blazer (as my user name implies) plus 3 YJs. I decided Easter of 2013 to get my son an rc crawler (Rubicon SCX10) so he could bring it along when we were wheelin in the 1:1 rigs, so he could play with it while we stopped.... he loves it, but I ended up getting hooked bad LOL. We now own 21 that are currently rtr rigs... I love the Axial and Vaterra rigs that we can take out and bash all day long but these RC4WD scale rigs hit home with for the ability to detail them like the real thing. This Trailfinder is my first rc kit I purchased, I'm still tinkering on, as most projects never seem finished lol. It has a Tekin 35T brushed motor, and a Tekin FR-X esc, Hitech 7954 servo for steering and an Axial servo for the 2 speed. The servo was moved to the left side of the chassis to get a realistic appearing drag link set up. I swapped the stock axles out for a set of Yota II (from my TF2 SWB build) and installed a set of the new RC4WD scale leaf springs with u-bolts. Currently I'm running a pair of shortened Axial driveshafts, but I have ordered a set of ultra scale ones. The bumpers and sliders have been swapped put for the metal versions. The wheels are Gearhead units, non-beadlock but I love them, tires are the Pitbull Growlers in 1.55, love them as well. They look great and the few times I've had it out they've done well for my purpose. I put a spare tire and toolbox in the bed. On the body I've added a radiator support and inner fenders, tinted the windows and added a seat. Also put a set of the Toyota emblems and hockey stripes. Thanks for looking. |

| Re: My TrailFinder II They are RC4WD parts that I bought from RPP. They make 2 different u-bolt kits, make sure you get the one that will fit your axles.

Decided to do a shackle reversal on my TF2 today, I did like I saw in the pinned TF tips thread and cut and drilled out brackets out of brass. I think it turned out pretty good, the super scale springs don't flex well unless you remove half the springs, but then they kind look like the standard kit springs. I'd rather loose a little flex on this truck to keep the looks It won't matter too much for how much use it gets LOL.

Awesome looking! I cannot wait to finally get one. Whenever I can... Never in stock anywhere and eBay ones are way too expensive. Trane |

I took a few of my rc trucks out Sat, up here in the Uintas above my house. Had a good time, this TF2 performed well. Didn't bang it up too badly either.

Finally got my new ultra scale driveshafts in and installed. I love the look of them with flanges and scale hardware. They held up fine on one outing and 11.1 Lipo ran through it so far

So... My poor TF2 truck was feeling left out since I left it home the last few outing... I took it for a quick little run in my yard tonight...

Cool truck man. What's up with the tinted windows? I like that a lot. Is that the angle of the photos or do you have a tinted cab window? |

I tinted them, I did a strip across the top of the windshield, a single layer on the sides and double layered the rear window. I keep a couple rolls of the cheap Walmart window tint around to do my 1/25 models

Truck looks amazing the first scuff or scratch is gonna hurt then it gets a little better lol some good scrapes and scuffs have my blue body rocking a brown fender white hood and red passenger door another tip is painting the heads of the body hardware screws body color helps hide them |

When I bought my second Trail Finder2 with the updated Mojave2 body I also picked up a Tamiya Hilux grille set with the intentions of using it on the new kit... well the new Mojave2 body grille is changed, it's taller where it recesses into the fenders now, so I opted to put it in my older TF2...I just wanted to change up one of my TFs since I have 2 I wanted them to have a few differences... Here's a few pics
