Default Bent my pan hard mount!!!

Last weekend I maidened my first TF2 and towards the end of the day the steering went out of whack, I made an adjustment assuming the servo had skipped some teeth and finished the day. Today I had a chance to look things over and found the panhard mount was bent.

Is this common for a TF2? can a strong servo over power the mount, or do you think it was one the two roll overs I had (one was a little more violent than I like, not that I like any of them..) but I didnt notice the steering was pulling until we were on a smooth trail.

Im running a Hitec 7954SH with stock tires.

Thanks, Troy

You can see I added a spacer to the link just to get me by for easy trailing until I can replace it ( I may attempt to mill a new one)

I doubt the servo was the problem, though it's a lot more servo than you need on a TF2. (250-300 oz is more than enough with narrow axles and small tires.). I've seen a couple of people have issues with the panhard mount breaking or bending, so the falls were probable enough to do it in.

I would suggest sending an email to RC4WD to see if they'd send a replacement. If you're up for fabbing a replacement, you can probably come up with something that will be stronger. For what it's worth, I mocked up a couple of suggestions for another member that snapped the panhard mount:
Tf2 cms panhard mount replacement

I hope that helps. Good luck!

I've bent one beyond repair and broke the second one clean off. Aluminum is very soft and part is designed poorly. It takes on too much stress for how fragile it is. RC4wd has warrantied the part both times so I am thankful to them for that.

Any hit to the tire/axle whether from the front or side, puts a lot of shock into that one tiny little bracket that is sandwiched under the truss. I am surprised that there haven't been more people complaining about this. I'm not even that hard on my TF2 and it's happened twice..

Ugh, sorry to hear.

I have emailed them (never dealt with them before) hopefully they are quick to response. I have access to high quality aluminum and even with my limited skills I think I can mill a replacement.

Seems common after reading this.
I noticed mine was slightly bent as well when I was doing a go over on my first new to me used one I bought a month ago.
It seemed really soft no effort to bend it back.

I didnt dare bend it back for fear of finishing it off, I did have it out today for a couple hours though.

I don't blame you. Mine was slightly bent, nothing like yours.

RC4WD responded to my email, they're standing behind the product and reimbursing me for a new 3 link kit, good first experience I'd say!!

Well......they reimbursed me $20 of the $49.99 kit. I think I'll use the new part as a template and make my own, I feel the stock part will bend again should I roll it....which is likely to happen!

There's a lot of force on that little piece, with lots of leverage too. I'd do as you said and make your own out of better aluminum and with more bracing, mounting points/screws or something. Maybe good time to leaf spring front?

Has anyone used vanquish scx10 axles on the tf2 w links? There is a you tube video but it is of poor quality.

Not that I've seen and I would not swap to those huge ugly Axial axles with their giant drag and catch on everything pumpkins! Yota axles, K44s or maybe Vaterra Ascender axles, but not VP or Axial! After proper diff gear shimming, my Ascender axles have been taking lots of abuse without any problems.
