Default SWB Bronco spare parts build

So I literally bought the tf2 short wheel base to use up some spare parts and because I love early broncos. This won't be much of a build.. just more of a picture thread.

Ordered the body today!

Nice, that's what I was figuring would fit the best and it's sweet detail.

I'm guna get rid of the front leafs and go coil springs. That should allow me to stretch it out a bit

Or you could use u-bolt kit and only one of the two holes in the springs to locate the axle fore/aft. Or you could make a tiny lift block spacer, maybe 3mm thick with countersunk mounting screws in it and offset the two stock leaf holes for axle mounting?

Been working on the bronco. Went to a three link front. Still have to make a panhard

Sees to have a lot more articulation like this and with different shocks

Yes, Bronco was coil front and leaf out back. You're mocking up now and will make thicker link mount plates for front axle?

What you're using is fine for design and test, but at least 1/16" thick for final pieces. Also some triangulation from the link mount screws to the axle is necessary unless it's a thick machined piece.

Sounds good, I will be triangulating the mounts out on the final pieces

Will have to get some steel one of these days to make the final mounts but the links are done

Some minor tweaks on the chasis and finish the body and it's done!

Nice build so far. Dremel with a cutting wheel would do the trick. I've used mine to cut steel, titanium, Delrin, etc. with no problems.
