Amazing work. Love it. This may have been said, as I was mostly looking at all the pictures, lol... But you should make a little Tx Remote for your driver, and the matchbox can be his 1:10 scale RC of your 1:10 scale of your 1:1... lol like a mini-me's mini me. |

| Re: 1984 4 runner build Let me know if you want the part number too. These were definitely the best looking and only $10 including Bluetooth system w rechargable battery. I need to wait to build my speaker box though until the back interior is done so it's fits the way the real one I had did in the roll bar. Now if I just knew how to make some nice little JL audio decals!

maybe if you have patience you could always trace on your screen with see threw paper and then cut out on sticky vinyl.....i suppose it all depends on what type of screen you have to.... |

These are the speakers VM175BT-BLU :: Bluetooth Long Speaker :: Vivitar They had like 50 of them on sale right before christmas. I actually went back after christmas to get more and they were gone.. haven't seen em since.. Any of those little bluetooth speakers will work though, these just looked good and fit the budget. My patience depends on my work day! I need to figure something out because i need to do the rest of the decals and emblems eventually as well. Check it, i still have one of them bad boys! I sold the other two, and gave this one to my friend. Then he gave it back to me so i could put it in my ms3. Never got that far! Maybe this summer... Gotta love those 80's graphix! |

Had to get a bit more done for the servo mount before the kids go to bed and i can't use the grinder anymore. Used the stock crossmember with a plate of aluminumb JB Welded to it and then.. chop chop. Should be plenty stout. Last edited by ternandbern; 01-19-2017 at 08:43 PM. |

| Re: 1984 4 runner build Yeah, thinking about different drivelines then stock too. The TF2 SWB drivelines actually look pretty good. Front would be about right length and then the rear would have to get lengthened. They look more scale then just about anything i can find.

Just started following..... this is absolutely AWESOME! I had an 86, 88 and an 89 runner and loved em! Very tempted to pick up one of those bodies off Ebay but in the meantime I will watch your build.

Thanks Justin, haven't got much done lately though, been working on the bomber and repainted the yeti, added an SCX 10 ii to the fleet as well Maybe I'll get some windows cut out tonight. Once I get those fitted I think I'm ready to paint |

| Re: 1984 4 runner build Thanks. Got a bit more done this morning. Took the shock hoops and ground the backsides round and sanded them smooth. Looks 10 times better! I wasn't sure if i was going to detail the grill but i went for it anyways. 78 individually cut and placed pieces. If i had to do it again i would a least wait until my coffee wore off. Just glad i don't have to worry about it anymore! |

Got some progress made on the engine. Reglued the header and the manifold to the correct sides of the engine block, lol.. then laid down about 5 coats of primer and a few coats of flat black to fill most of the lines from 3d printing. Sprayed some rustoleum 'aluminum' on a few parts and called it good. Had to solder the motor wires in less than ideal spots due to the clearance in the front of the motor but it worked out. Bolted the pan to the sides with some stainless screws and then glued the front back on and the valve cover as well. Found some o-rings laying around that fit for the belts. Looks pretty good! Will look even better with an air cleaner, some spark plug wires and hoses, etc. Eventually will do some of the other bits and pieces. Faux engine also just slides on and off for easy motor maintenance. |
