Hope everyone had an awesome christmas! Sorry I ditched out for so long on this build. We had to move and and then things got extremely busy with other stuff in life. Some months after moving I finally got the truck unboxed but then it got put on a shelf and sat there for most of a year. I pulled it down a couple months ago and have been dragging out some of the build stuff and thinking about getting going on it again. Here it is ready to get some attention.

Thank you, too kind. I’ve been stuck at the interior and lighting. The wire gage for the lights is way too big and I haven’t found the patience to solder new wire. The dash and interior panels is also daunting. I was trying to get a scaled down version of the proline 85 yoga dash off of shapeways but no luck yet. Probably just gonna scratch build. Any ideas are always welcome.

Thanks man. Thinking I need to finish the lights and electronics first then maybe the dash. After that I can finish the windows and the rest of the interior.

Yes, It will get done! Its actually been a bit motivating seeing the new body come out.
I had made headlight lens for it but they didn't have any texture and i didn't like the look of them after i tried to score them with a knife so i ended up buying some of the axial lens kits, AX31390 and grinding them down to size. They look pretty good. Tested out all the rest of the led lights, noted where they all wire up and then pulled everything back out for new wire. I'm not a fan of the wire that comes with the light kit so i ordered new wire, black connected pairs in 22-28 wire gage to see what size works best. Should look a lot better and won't be so bulky.
Also hooked up an esc and did a little drive test for the first time. It was just cool to see it roll across the carpet.
It won't see much trail but the stiff ol suspension actually has a little flex to it.

Some good comparison pictures. You can see how much smaller my 84 4Runner is vs the rc4wd 4runner. I also threw in the 4runner by Dready that I got. . One thing I am pretty exited about is being able to use the rc4wd 4runner interior to scale my interior. It will be extremely handy to have to work from. I might also steal the metal emblems as they are super nice.
Got a little work done and managed to get the other rear canopy window glued in. The first one i CA'd in and it left a little craze so i epoxied in the other one, which worked OK. Most of the blemishes were covered up with the black paint for the seal. Also got the wing windows in and put a sunroof seal in using some 16ga black wire insulation. Will finish up the sun roof mounting with some hinges and latch of sorts. Good stuff.

Nioce to see the three 4Runners side by side comparison! E6000 for the windows, won't haze or craze them and can be removed later with a little careful work. Git R Dun!

Thanks for the heads up on the E6000. I'll see if they have some at ace today.

Yes, the Dready body is very cool, I appreciate anything handmade over something from a mold.

E6000 is amazing, I use that shit on everything

Also for clear lenses, and window, watch crystal cement is awesome. This is what I used to glue the windows in on my Jeep XJ from SOR back in the day. I got the tip from Corey at RPP who was a renowned modeler. Has a needle point applicator too

Got a little side tracked today.. in a good way. Really have been wanting to get the speaker box done, mostly because i was anticipating how it would turn out.

Started out by making the decals for the subs. I am pretty happy with how the waterslide decals turned out. They actually wrapped around the speaker cones better than i thought they would. Not perfect but they look pretty friggin cool!!

Made the speaker box out of 1/32" plywood. Its going to get a little sanding after its dry and that is that, no carpet or paint.

Should look pretty rad in there after its all done.

Well in my haste to make decals yesterday I didn't even realize that my sub didn't have the white ring around the logo, I just happened to see it on some other ones I found on the internet. Although I thought it looked pretty cool it was wrinkly and needed to go for the total scale look. I was able to carefully peel the decals off, trim them and reapply. Looks better.
