Default C1 trail truck~~ OG 70 series Toyota LC flatbed on Chino's

Time for a new build, I'm almost done with my C2 Mog.

I've been looking for this style European LC for quite sometime. I found this one brand new.

It will be a dedicated trail truck for now but will build to use in C1 as well.

Starting with Croc Hunter truck
-Custom steel flatbed
-Axial rails
-Yota II axles w/rear anti wrap bar
-Chino mil wrap leafs all around
-U bolts
-TF2 2-speed trans
-Hammer tcase
-OG 1.9 TSL'S for now
-MTHEAD rings
-

Santa showed up this Christmas with gifts for my trail rig.

He brought me some Aisin axles, some "dirty 30" shafts and other misc stuff like diamond plate for my flatbed and some FJ40 emblems for my 70 series Cruiser.

I love how scale these Yota II cases are. They look like the real Aisin deal!

Started installing the Dirty 30's...... I've heard they are stronger than the stock Birfields?!?!

I did read good reviews on these new XVD for the Yota II axles and decided not to waste time with the stock dog bones that are known for the damn pins to walk out and cause problems.

The WD40 Lithium grease is my preferred for CVD, XVD and Universal joint lube!

It's only been a year but I'm excited to get this done.

Got some used parts and started assembly yesterday.

Chassis is started. Trans needed a little fixin. Output was getting sloppy on the pin hole so I made a little mod like I've done on a few other outputs in the past.

I braze in a hardened screw then cut and grind smooth.

All better!

Also started on a front bumper. I'm moving the perches to the front bumper the way they are supposed to be.

Bumper will be mounted with 4 screws, 2 will go through the center of the new perch up through the frame. the other 2 will go through a aluminum mount.

Impressive fab skills!

Are you going to widen the body? I remember these being quite narrow, even for C1 axles.

Thanx!

Ill probably just use this for a dedicated trail truck and not worry to much about width. Im actually currently buiidng a more dedicated SORRCA C1 truck right now as well.

Got it mocked up for a trail run before paint and the flat bed.

Worked great on Saturday. Ran it with some OG 4.3" Swampers.
