Thumbs up My Take on a Blazer TF2 Build

I am finally getting around to building up one of these sweet Blazers! I have seen alot of the stockish look builds and wanted to take a little departure from the norm. Classic styling with some modern day upgrades!

I am not going to cover the main chassis build portion of this as it has been covered several times. But, lets see what we are working with...

Box full of fun right there!

And another shipment full of goodies!

If this isn't a work of art, I don't know what is!

This new radiator setup is freaking awesome! Definitely going to be trimming out the grille to show this off!

Parts patiently waiting in the shop for me to get this chassis built!

Plenty of little screws later, we have a rolling chassis and the shell on the chassis for mock up. I have installed the helical cut gears as well as XVD's. Plans are to change up to the K44 Axles soon...

383 Stroker looking hot down in there! Can't be just a 350 in it for this!

These RC4WD 1.7 Raceline Avengers wrapped in Atturo Trail Blade MT's look perfect on here!

Threw the top on it to get an idea of the final shape!

I still have a long list of details to complete before taking this down to the Ultimate Scale Truck Expo in Florida! The bad part is...this build is making me want to go and get a real square body bowtie to build!

Looks great. I love the wheels, very sharp. I installed the K44s on mine - they're expensive but totally worth it. By far the nicest RC product I've purchased. Curious to see what you do color wise and with the interior!

Thanks everyone!

Not much more progress today. Had to do the family thing lol!

Placed an order for some music wire as well as some bits for the underhood details (master cylinder, ignition etc.)

I have made some progress on the Blazer!

First up, I added a new rear bumper from RC4WD. This adds some extra clearance for dropping off of obstacle etc. Also added in 2 mounts for some shackles!

Now what small block would be complete without a set of long tube headers?!? These things look and fit amazing!

Here we have the body! Scalerado (Dave Capek) did this up for RC4WD and it is in my hands now. It suffered some minor damage in shipping, but nothing that can't be repaired and ready for the Ultimate Scale Truck Expo in March!

I also installed the RC4WD Warn hubs. These things are super detailed. The etching is even correct on the outer ring as well as the center dial.

I am also working on the engine bay mock up. The MSD Ignition and brake booster/master cylinder arrived from Exclusive RC.

As for a little performance upgrade...I picked up a GCM LRT2 Transfer Case. This overdrives the front axle and allows for a little tighter turning.

I will begin the exhaust fabrication as well as making some fuel lines with hangers this week. I need to figure out the inner fenders and a firewall extension to seal off the engine bay.

The details on the engine/transmission are just awesome. Is this build going to be a shelf queen?

It won't be a shelf queen. Am I going to purposefully beat on it, definitely not.

Finally got the Blazer off the bench and out in the wild!

I have to say that the new Roll Bar/Spare Tire Mount looks great in the bed! Even had room to spare for the ARB Fridge/Freezer!
