Don't try this at home.Well I guess it not going according to plan and my first mistake was i should have used coarse salt instead of table salt. Now that i painted rust colors in layers and painted my last colors.
The moment of truth.
So now the salt is like a PITA to sand off.I'm at the point were I'm literally scraping it off with a wire brush this is going to take a long time.....lol
So i either scrape this and sand it smooth and start over or just buy a new body...
I used water and salt i then scrape that method and started over like this...

Here what i have to deal with today sanding...i fine if i wet sand the salt dissolves and better to come off...maybe once it's all sanded smooth it may look OK...

So now back to work and see if i can fix this mess..
Any TF2 body for sale...........

Edit:I had to add this.Like the title says A Rusted Development for sure..A Rusted Development Mess is what i should have called it...Ha ha lol

Well after and scraping picking the salt off all day long yesterday lol and still more sanding to do,I'm starting to like this affect,I don't recommend it cause it's a PITA to come off. What i should have done and figured it out later on was to pick off the salt with something pointy and leaves little holes rather then sanding it down and looks flat.Anyways more sanding today and going to try some other rust colors. It's amazing what a little orange can't do to high light rust.....Oh ya i think i got carried away on the rust i should have done less rust but it to late now

Wow, you've been busy. The truck really is turning out great. I lave the patina and the wide offset wheels really make it look awesome! Keep up the good work

Just thought i show you what a little table salt can do...I also painted the parts of the rear tail lights and window trim and side moldings I was going to do a black wash the whole truck but found it didn't need it ao i just did the door and hood lines. Now it's time to top it off with some dull clear coat.....

A little touch up should bring out the patina....and i couldn't help myself I new there was a reason for that center molding why not a stripe.

Well i was going to order some another set of lights cause the ones i ordered were to big and are all 5mm bulbs and the TF2 except 3mm bulbs what do you want for 13.00 bucks..So I decided I'll make these 5mm led bulbs fit,so i in large all the holes except for the 2 front corner markers and luckily i had a 3mm yellow set on hand so i have all lights covered..So the light housing was way to small to make 5mm holes so i fab some up using cable ties cut in half drilled 2mm holes and done........And ya might have to switch some colors around.

here a mess....who else loves wireing..

well After drilling all the holes to except 5mm bulbs except for one, i found out that one of the set of light wouldn't work, so i determine to fix it.After fiddling around with the wires. There your problem.......

I also had to lengthen the two for the front lights and change the wires on another set that i had lying around.Man those wires are thin..

well wire all done and every thing else just have to put it all togerther and should be good to go...
this is what scares every body take your time, label all your wires so easy hook up to your light box ,lot of zip ties on hand .I also used wire loom just to give it that extra protection...

well all done took Rusty out yesterday and she runs great the 1080 Quicrun esc didn't get hot the 27T motor is good and fast enough for me with the 2 speed tranny...the only thing is the Li-Po cut off is set at "medium" and check the battery and it read 3.83 still lots of juice left so i set it at "low" and it cut of the same and the battery reads 3.80.
Any ways got all the scale items in which give me 250Grams of weight in the back. Now i need to find a way to hold down all the scale stuff in the bed...oh ya blue tooth speaker so i can lissten to music which gives another additional 200 grams of weight....

needed to make room for the 1.55 X 4.22 MT Baja ATZ so i trimmed the front fenders a tiny bit..these tires are super soft and sticking with no weights and stock foams i like them....

thank man there are a nice compound tire i can't get over how soft and squishy they are the way the tire gets bent out of shape like the 1:1.
And i thought my 1.9 Flat Irons were soft these are even softer...
I see RC4WD came out with 2 new Goodyear tires may look into buying some...
