Default My new to me Tf2

Hi all, after wanting one for quite some time I ended up buying a used tf2 off of a friend for a pretty good deal, it's only been ran a few times and I put the first dirt to it. So far the truck is pretty much stock, I added a hackmoto 35t and removed some stickers.

Plans for the truck at this point are a bobbed bed, sr5 decals, maybe a slight gearing change and some steel driveshafts. I want something that's fun for light trail use and will keep up in most situations with out of box scx's since my overbuilt scx isn't much fun to run around here.

Some pictures of the truck, and one of my scx10.

Nice pickup...I like the way it looks. These are great little trucks. If you haven't already checked out the TF2 guide on the RC4WD Forum and stickied here, definitely give it a read. Your goal of getting it to be able to hang with a stock SCX10 is very achievable even with leafs, and it will be much more fun to wheel along the way.

Thanks! I've had that thread bookmarked for a while, I have a couple friends with tf2's back home and they were a lot of fun. I'd like to eventually do red leafs with a long black as a helper and gelande hoops with 80mm fronts, and some stronger driveshafts. Don't want to get too far away from what the trucks are but still gain some flex and durability.

Lovely little truck! So far with the O-Ring mod, little leaf on the bottom, main leaf, and than the medium leaf on top, aswell as no springs in the shock bodies I've been extremely happy. I don't see a need to make the suspension on the truck any softer than that setup. To each there own, but I'd do those two cheap mods and see how you feel afterwards. Especially after a good hour or two of breaking in the leafs

Mine came with only the long leafs in it, no helpers at all, which is what made me decide to try the reds with the long black under. It works pretty well as is just wheelhops badly when it does spin. And the shocks and hoops I just wanted to try, I like to change things, which is why my scx10 is the way it is now. Appreciate the feedback though!

Got my red leafs today, installed them with the stock long leaf as a helper. Seems to have less wheel hop and more down travel this way, and they haven't sagged out as much (yet?)

Can anyone recommend drive shafts? They feel like they're about to fall apart

Got to mess with the truck some today, seems to work much better than the sagged out stock singles by themselves.

Spent the day messing with trucks with a friend, got his newly acquired Ruptor running and put my new Krawler Konceptz plate on the Tf2.

Installed a boom racing high clearance transfer case mount tonight, makes a huge difference under the truck from the old land anchor.

Like them so far, haven't had a ton of run time and it's all been around the back yard rock pile.

Ended up putting the tube bumper on for now with the winch and controller from my scx10, looking into metal bumpers but haven't decided on one yet. Also put in an rc4wd light kit, running them off a 9v with a microswitch.
