So many paints to choose from, help?

I've finally completed the chassis. Now to the next fun part. Painting the body. Been doing a lot reading on the subject and I know it's a subject that has beaten to death. I'm confused what paint to really get. I don't want to be the next one to use the wrong paint and primer and have to sand down all the messed up paint job from bubbles or other issues.

I've been eyeing out tamiya paint for plastics and feel this is a safe route, unfortunately the color selection is very limited. I know others have said to you have used Dupli-Color paints for plastic and I've been of luck. Others krylon paint for plastic or other types of art acryli paints. The other thing I've seemed to pick up on was views of oil-based primer than you want to stick with an oil-based paint and if you go water-based primer than you'll stick with a water based paint.

Could definitely use any suggestions or thoughts good or bad teach a rookie some mistakes that you guys have all made or haven't made for painting bodies

I usually use Dupli-color automotive paint in spray cans on my hardbody rigs, use the same brand primers and paint for sure though...

Ive personally had good results using krylon colormaster series of paints on all 3 of my rc4wd hardbodys with no bad results holds up well and has a decent color selection

Spray can from Lowes "for plastic"

I used Rustolium with the goofy trigger top, worked really well. I beat on my junk, it's holding up just fine.

Sure appreciate all the comments definitely a learning curve for me painting the Hardbody. I've done good handful of lexan bodies have always had good luck. I just don't want to spend countless hours fixing my screw up would like to do it right the first time. Makes me feel better that you guys have good luck with these different paints and tips too.
