Default The D90 TF2

Hi everyone. Found this forum very useful with lots of tips! I tried to search for a D90 body mod for a TF2 wheelbase, but could not find anyone that had done something similar. I just bought the D90 body and i knew that it was too short for the TF2 chassis, so why not cut it in half and make it to fit the TF2. So here is my start of a new build. I will try to upload as many updates that I can

After the cut I hot glued on some wood sticks just to keep it straight.

Bought some styrene plastic and some accessories to it. The color is going to be Camel Yellow

Got some done today. Sanded the hole thing a couple of times. Adjusted a lot with putty and the trim is on. Need some more sanding before priming.

Primed the body and painted it with Tamiya Camel Yellow. I sprayed the chrome with matt black. Mounted on some detaling to it as well. Behind the grill I brushed on some Tamiya titanium silver because I think that looks better than the yellow. It pops more. Next is to tackle the windows.

IŽll probably print out the body mount. Makes it kind a easier than mod the existing mounts. What do you think?

Nice work OP.

I was just over in Denmark last week and saw a really sweet D90. I have been itching to put one together a scale version ever since. Having looked at that body with the 275mm wheelbase, I was considering trying to attempt the same thing you have done here.

Are you happy with the thickness of styrene you have used?

Thanks. I think that I could have chosen a slightly thinner sheet, it was a little hard to work with hehe. But all in all, the whole thing got very stiff and rigid

For all of those are wondering, I bought the body from aliexpress.
