Thanks!

Nice pictures.

Any plans to move the front shock towers back and mount front shocks behind the axle or would that tend to defeat the purpose since it's got BTA steering?

No plans to do that. I'll investigate if it's necessary. Seems pretty well setup as it sits now.

I know of Smiggins Folly, but I didn't know who owned it.

I wonder if the BTA works as well as the stock steering.

I'm happy to report that I broke nothing and the truck is ready for it's final comp of the season at ECSC. It's usually the hardest C1 course on the calendar and since it's a true SORRCA event, I'll have to mind those reverses. I added a few things to make my life easier (as pulling the body off and plugging in the battery and screwing the body down drives me crazy).

First, I screwed some grub screws into the body mount posts so now the whole body is a friction fit. I don't remember who did this the first time, but they deserve a prize. I also added a PowershiftRC Deadman switch in the form of a Propane tank. Now, when I plug my battery in and put the body on, I take the top half of the propane tank off and poof, power is cut! Now it can happily wait in line without draining the battery! Success!

Oops, my axels fell off. I WAN REFNUD.

I replaced them with Curries thanks to JEC for the mounts, and since I had them off, clocked the motor much lower on the chassis. Comp.

I'd demand a refund for that clearly knockoff "Marn" fairlead.

Very smart move on the axle swap! I have wondered when a TF2 guy would do this....

Happy to report this little guy took 7th of 57 at the ECSC. Very pleased with the result. Most of the top scores were near perfect, and came down to time. I had five reverses and full scale points, so it was a tight race. Couldn't be happier with the setup.

I need to do the grub mod. The stock body mounting system (screws) is terrible.

Genius idea using the propane tank as a switch!

How are the rear shocks bolted to the axles? Putting 10.2 Curries under my new tf2 right now.

JEC Racing leaf spring mounts, aluminum or brass:

Yes, but I prefer to use a home mixed Acetone/styrene slurry with proper matching color plastic. Use a small glass jar with acetone, chop up bits of the plastic scrap into it, stir, screw lid on shake and wait a couple hours. Stir occasionally and add plastic or acetone as needed. I've found better to start slightly thin/runny as it dries/thickens quickly when un-capped and working. For the bottle I used and old Testors liquid model cement bottle, saw Matt used a small Mason jam/jelly jar for his mix.

Nice side effect is the slurry fills any gaps, easily sands down just like the body itself, and when dry the part is very strong as though it was molded that way.
