RC4WD was kind enough to send me a kit for review and general tomfoolery. Here is unbox and review video: Bottom line, this is probably the finest RTR to come from any manufacturer in awhile. Scale looks, awesome licence, sturdy parts and a wicked proven chassis layout. I like. With a few bits and bobs, this will be a very fine addition to the fleet. I like that RC4WD included a lot of really nice aftermarket parts as standard. The bead lock wheels, the bobbed bed, pre-painted bits, metal front bumper, MC Roll bar, all of that isn't usually expected, and it's amazing that they could include it at the price point they're offering. |

Oops, it's yellow now. But yay for progress, even if it's the wrong colour. I decided to make it look like a faded old, piece of junk so you'll note that the yellow is more yellow at the bottom, and less yellow on the top (because sun bleaching). Letters fell off. Wheels and tires got swapped out for some Pro-Line Hyrax 4.19's, Incision plastic Bead Lock's and Locked Up rings. Because comp. Need more tiny bolts. Marlene Bumper for Bumpering. And more metal for more points. Also got some of the trim painted. Once I apply stickers and such, I'll give it a few coats of flat to make it look cruddy. Louvred window doo-dad. Will be painting this too. More to come. Excited to get this prepped for comp comp comp. |

Nice to know that LURC rings for on those Incision plastic beadlock wheels! Someone needs to make a wheel/ring combo compatibility chart... Allowing those that can't afford to go full-boat to have very nice looking, yet functional wheelsets. I bought myself one complete LURC wheelset, and they are worth it - but will likely go the budget route for the future... This rig is looking fantastic, as was expected coming from you! |

How did you remove the tailgate handle and windshield wipers and can they be reused? I have a Marlin Crawler that I'd like to repaint and I'd rather remove these to repaint them as opposed to masking.

Here's the bumpers all freshly painted, ready for scratching. A&M hooked me up with his junk. This is going to be good. Last edited by imthatguy; 05-06-2018 at 07:39 PM.

After installing the shackle reversal kit, I got to installing the new skid plate and transfer case mount. This is a really neat conversion kit. If you're so inclined, you can install it in such a way to reverse the transfer case and give you an overdrive for the front axle, which is what I've done here. It installed flawlessly, Bert from A&M did a great job designing this piece. As a result of this upgrade, it raises the transfer case and puts the entire skid 1/2" below the frame rails. Excellent. Here's the smooth skid installed. Success! I'll get a couple of finished upskirt shots later. Managed to also construct and start painting my interior piece. It's simple, but hides everything it needs to, and gives me a certain number of points to max out the truck. Yay for that. Gnome sayin'?

It seems I've been using my glove box all wrong for so many years. I never knew it was for spare arms! Sent from my SM-J727R4 using Tapatalk |

I've decided there was too much red. So I got rid of the sliders and rear bumper in anticipation of some new sliders and bumpers from Scalerfab. They should be here just in time to install and get scratched. Here's the interior installed, stickered, and painted. I'll be adding more details over the next update. Good old, 30 year old Bruiser driver. Heck of a guy. A real Knees-Up guy. This is a resin re-pop, and he's still my favourite driver. Painted him with Citadel paints and weathering liquids. Built not Bought roll bar I brazed up today. I didn't like the plastic one that's included and this gives me two more points. Everything's coming together quite nicely. Also started my first round of weathering. A simple wash knocks back the shine a bit. FLEXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!11111111ONE Some more to come. Almost ready for comp comp comp.

Rig looks great. How far are going with the weathering? Just watched your video on weathering, great job on that as well. Nice to learn the different techniques and see different outcomes. Keep up the great content. |

Great build, love the interior. I'm going to have to sit down one day and watch again your weathering techniques. I think after beating up my tf2 body a weathering look is in order. A bit nervous about doing so, guess I can practice on some styrene. Hope it turns out as good as yours, haha. Lovin the hyrax tires too, I've got the 1.9's on mine, did great with them this weekend.

Knight Customs printed storage box. I have a theme in mind for the accessories, but haven't gotten around to finishing that element yet.

What's up with the rainbow louvers? I love the color of your interior and the matte finish. Do you mind sharing what paint(s) you used? As calcagno45 stated, your weathering video was awesome. I watched it and got inspired to try it so I ordered up some suppliers! Thank you for that! Now that I think about it, my overly glossy TF2 interior would probably do well with a wash to tone it down and darken it. See...you inspire me! |

Thanks, interior paints were Tamiya Flat Earth and Red Brown airbrushed in thin layers. Appreciate the kind words on the weathering video. It was fun to make and should give anybody the confidence to give it a try.
