I have been thinking about doing that myself. But if you really glued the half cab panel in like I did,it may be a chore. Since I used plastic weld and shoe goo,I would almost have to use my dremel and slowly go at it without damaging the cab. If you used only one glue and didn't really weld the plastic, you may be able to use a hobby knife and cut it loose. Dunno, was considering doing same on mine, but it's glued in from the factory. Wish I had a good suggestion for this.

The heat gun and acetone will more than likely melt the plastic. I would go another route if it was me. Chances are the cab back half panel isn't adhered that well, but I'm taking a guess because I put my cab together.

You can use thread or a very fine line to precisely cut the plastic. Just go slow, sand to a straight finish. Leave yourself a little wiggle room for finish sanding though.

I also considered doing this, but instead of removing the half back I would cut the full back and use just the lower section, glue it and finish the seam.
