Yes, ditch the body posts and pins and use magnets. Most of the guys in our group use ring neodymium rare earth magnets. I trimmed down the side body posts and bolted a pair of them where the rear post come through the body, and glued a pair of magnets under the floor.

As for front, I used some angle aluminum stock to make some brackets to mount another pair of magnets under the foot well of the interior.

That sounds pretty good, do you have a picture of your setup? I have some angle aluminum laying around I could probably fab something similar up.

I would love to see some pics too. I'm using set screws on my Toyota TF2 but would love some magnets.

Sorry for not seeing this earlier, I've been out of town for the 4th.

I'll try to post up some pictures tonight.

Warning: these magnets are not a toy!

I mounted 4 of the magnets on the chassis using modified body posts and stainless steel screws:

I should mention I'm using an A&M Garage shackle reverse mount kit for the front, which allowed me to mount the pieces of aluminum.

And then the side body posts I cut down and tapped for the screws. I had tried using the original body posts, but one stripped out, and I wanted to try this rather than wait for the parts to come back in stock.

I shoe-goo'ed 4 magnets in place under the body, after the mounting the ones on the chassis:

Also, you can do a similar trick with the removable top, if you were so inclined. I used some small square magnets and a couple of angle polystyrene strips to set up mine.
