| Approach angle I’ve slowly added bits the the Marlin to make it more capable, increase scale points and I’m really happy overall. This includes the A&M garage skid, chino mod, oring mod and some other simple changes - oh - and the motor drop more recently. I’ve experimented with tyres and while the MTR’s are a great tyre they just don’t seem to perform as well as the voodoos. The last issue I’m facing on a regular basis is approach angle, I seem to get stuck frequently with the front bumper getting in the way... So now the main question... is there a better bumper for the TF2? I’m looking to make this as competitive as possible. Thanks. |

Any winch bumper for the TF2 sucks if approach angle is what you want. There are a few comp bumpers like this RC4WD one. Approach angle is greatly improved but I think all of these style bumpers look terrible. The one I really want is from Wertymade but these aren't a standard in stock item yet. |

I used a servo winch on mine and was able to get the bumper tucked up nicely. |

That RC4WD comp bumper looks terrible imo. The Wertymade looks great, but would be better if the lower mounts and skid ramp dealio was raised up and attached to the straight across front crossmember instead of the stock dropped member. This would look better, be more scale accurate and better approach angle. Quote:
That's hawt!!! Very nicely done, sir!

I like your trucks stance! Your roof must be 7.5" off the ground? #lowrider

Neilus, very nice work! That looks like tubing, how did you get your bends so tight and not kinked? |

| Re: Approach angle Thanks. You're right, it is tubing. I hand bent it around an 8mm diameter bearing slowly. Came out ok. Then i capped off the ends with a ground down allen bolt and brazed it in then sanded the head down to finish. |

Thank you, that’s a nice tight bend! Looks like buttonhead screws brazed in, they make nice end caps. |
