Default Shift servo hot

I burned up my shift servo after having it for months. Replaced it and this one gets hot in a hurry. I have my end points set as low as I can and have it move enough to shift gears. The servo does not buzz either. I have a Futaba 4PLS and using SW1 for Ch3 which is a 2 position switch.

The first one burned up after I took alot of the truck apart to clean and reassembled. It got real hot before I smelled the smell. Put in the new one and adjusted end points even more thinking that was the issue. Servo gets to 85 to 100 degrees pretty quickly.

What am I missing or not understanding?

Usually it's the endpoint adjusted incorrectly, but you've checked that. BEC adjusted too high for the servo? Tranny shift linkage binding?

I am running the shift servo straight from the Receiver, no bec other than the built in esc. I will check that though, the esc has adjustable bec voltage, I think. I am running a 3 cell..I do have a bec for steering and winch....By hand it shifts smoothly but again possible. My servo horn seems long , using lowest hole to mount linkage.

So the BEC in the ESC is set for 6 volts.

Have to agree with natedog. Recheck your endpoints. Take the linkage off the servo arm and than shift the trans manually and then set your endpoints based off where the stopping points are.
