Front tires rubbing on leaf springs...

Apologies if there's already a thread on this but I searched and didn't find it.

For the life of me, I can't figure out which way I need to go in terms of a wider wheel-hex or wider hex-hub but I'm running into issues with each.

Wheels are SSD 6-lug 1.55" and I'm using scale 2mm lugs. Offset is 10mm if that matters. I'm trying to avoid drilling larger lug-holes in order to accept a wider 1.9" hub and larger hardware. I'd like to keep the 1.55"/ 2mm acorn-lugs but every 6-lug hex hub that I'm finding is for 1.9". I won't go into detail but I really have tried at great length to come up with a solution to push these wheels out but I'm now at a standstill.

I'm seeing a lot of varying offset Vanquish hex-hubs but again... 1.9". I'm also intrigued by the Team KNK brass wheel-hexes in various extended widths but I can't afford to just start buying up a bunch of hardware in the hope of something working.

Maybe I'm over complicating things but please... anyone that has come up with a reliable solution to push their 1.55' wheels outward on their rig... I really need some help. Thanks much in advance.

Man those rigs are so nice. I especially like the Yota but the JKU has got some serious detail. I couldn't really see the offset at first but in the 2nd pic... wow! I can't spend on custom wheels right now... don't wanna have to anyway. Would certainly be cool if someone already made a hub in various widths that you could use with 1.55: hardware and wheels.

My TF2 has been fine and crawls awesome with stock 1.55 stamped steel wheels, don’t recall offset but Rc4wd site list specs. I get plenty of steering with xvds all the way until just rubs springs. Added a single 1mm Axial aluminum spacer to drag link for slightly toe out and this increases steering.

Stock width hexes are already wide as they can handle with remaining threads on stub axle. Wider offset wheels don’t look right, will wear out parts and usually don’t steer as well.

Nate- I'm not opposed to running xvd's. Do these push the wheels out at all compared to stock? Looks like in order to keep these tires that I may have to go to a different wheel. I appreciate the input on the hexes and the wider offset.

Xvds just replace dogbones inside axle housing giving smoother and slightly more steering travel. You’re welcome, remember more aggressive tires tread will grab at edge of springs more and if steering epa not set correctly can lead to more broken parts.

Re: Front tires rubbing on leaf springs...

Thanks to you both. I just wanted to make sure that the xvd's didn't change the track width. I think that's a mod I'd like to do. The SSD's that are on there now, are tucked in more than the original 1.7" wheels so I need to either move them outward a few millimeters or get a new wheel with not as much negative offset. So I don't want to do anything drastic... just get the track width back to where it was originally or slightly over. Regardless of what I do, I'll definitely set the epa's left/ right to minimize or eliminate tire rub on the springs.
