| stock shocks holding oil
can the stock shocks on a tf2 hold oil? i run without springs in them and i dont like the bounce, is there a way to rebuild that will guarantee them holding oil? ive looked at other scale options but none look right in my opinion. i wanna keep this as my scale rig, not really a heavy crawler. any help would be appreciated. |

I use 2000 cst diff fluid in the stock shocks with associated green slime on the orings. This seems to work well. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

You can also try and put a 0.2mm or slighty thicker spacer between the oring and shaft guide. This will compress ther oring slightly and may cause a bit of resistance bit will eliminate or greatly reduce leaks. How thick of diff fluid did you use before? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

These King Kong R/C scale shocks may be what you're after, oil filled and made for specifically scale appearances. Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk |

I've found 3000 CST diff fluid to be proper damping front and rear using RC4WD shocks and it leaks less. If the seals are leaking, replace them all and fill with 3000 cst, do NOT overfill or they'll leak. | |

I also filled mine with 8K shock fluid from my 5th scale car. They seem to work well and haven't leaked yet, just a slight wetness on the shaft.

I put some 30wt engine oil in mine. 1/4 leaks a decent amount(it'll prolly be empty in 2 months ish) the other 3 you cna see the shaft is wet but it's barely accumulating at the bottom of the shock. I feel it did help dampen the truck on high speed runs too, feels less bouncy and more controlled althouh for slower speed crawling it did slightly limit my travel, maybe 1/4" less now.
