Default What’s the best/most capable tf2 “out of the box” (kit or rtr)

Ok so I know an rtr will be better than a kit literally out of the box...

But if the kit was built with the same electrics as the rtr, of all the versions what would be the most capable?

No upgrades, no mods (not even free ones like removing leafs).

Classic, lwb, bf Goodrich, marlin, c2x?

I know that they’re all pretty close except the c2x with its links. Marlin has the bobbed bed and bigger tires, plus metal bumpers

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but, honestly, there's no legitimate and to your question. One person's "best" could be another person's "worst". It's entirely dependant on how a person intends on using the vehicle, the terrain a person intends running the vehicle on, the conditions of said terrain (terrain in California would have entirely different conditions than the exact same terrain in Maine, or florida), as well as other factors.

Marlin is best performer out of the box
has g2 diffs
g2 front shock hoops
low profile delrin skid
softer leaf springs
not much more to do to make it a very capable rig

ps i have 2 of them

I am curious what you mean when you say G2 riffs? I assume your talking about the spiral cut gears.

I personally don't have too much experience with the platform aside from the one I've driven for about a year, which is a Marlin. In fact I purchased a second Marlin as the base for my '85 4Runner build. It's the best bang for your buck, as it comes with many of the common upgrades right out of the box, and is also an RTR to boot, so you can get right out there if that's what you're after. The bobbed bed makes departures easier, the Gelande 2 front hoops give you more suspension travel, and to top it all off you get the cool round headlights. As mentioned earlier, it comes with the latest and greatest axles and running gear, and the no-slop single speed transmission. Those Swampers and beadlocks are heckin' rad, to boot.

I'll be buying a third Marlin soon enough, as I do actually want a replica of that famous truck.
