| Pinion and ring gears? what are my options?
Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade/replace the pinion and ring gears on my TF2 as the old ones are rather worn. What are my options? |

I believe your only options are the stock bevel cut gears, or the optional helical cut gears (RC4Z-G0059) Both appear to be made of the same hardened steel, but the helical cut gears should theoretically stronger by design, but I don't have enough run time on them yet to say if they're actually more durable than the original gears or not. Either way, it's critical that you take the time to shim the gears. The mesh is unbelievably sloppy as delivered and they're likely to die an early death if you don't shim them. I do not know of any underdrive or overdrive options for the yota/yota2 axles.
