Question about zboxes and revolver shackles

I had a thought. I know too much flex can be detrimental.

What do you think about only running zboxes on the rear of the front leafs, and revolver shackles on the rear of the rear leafs?

More info;

I've done the Chino mod and run the orings on my leafs. Other than that the leaf setup is stock all the way around with full packs at all 3 corners and no leafs on top of the main. I broke them in with the 2 leafs, then added the third after adding all the scale stuff to the truck.

While this did add some flex, the front still won't flex as much as the rear.
I'm awaiting 100mm shocks in the mail, which may free some stuff up and change the flex, as there are a few spots near full travel that the current shocks bind up from being old and abused.

I do believe I have 90mm at all 4 corners with the Gelende hoops up front.

My goal here is to add some flex without making the truck rock and roll. I know I can tame it down some with some good oil in the shocks, but I'm not holding my breath for them actually holding oil. Though to keep it like the real 1:1, I will be flipping the shocks to put the rods facing upwards.

So, What do you think of just running one set of zboxes and one set of revolvers?

Thanks in advance!

Take the new shocks apart, clean them out, add the green grease to the o rings and use thicker oil, that increases your chances to keep the oil in the shocks.

I run some Amazon shocks, and there is minimal leakage after about 7 or 8 miles of trail drivinghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...abbd282dbf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4d93c2d7be.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3a688eb7dd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1dc30a77ec.jpg

i also run the shocks upside down and put the shock boots ... it helps to keep the oil in and also keeps dust and dirt from building in the shock shaft.

I'm not too worried about the shocks holding oil, My question is more related to just running zboxes on the front leafs and shooters on the back.

With the chino mod in theory the zboxes would be all I need to increase articulation in the front, and the shooters in the rear would add a little more flex on the rear. The rear already flexes quite nicely, so I feel the zboxes would be better suited for the front.

I also have the 5/8 double split collars to use for axle weight, which should help as well.

I've read the tips for running slime and cleaning up the shock shaft and etc to get them leak free. When I get the new shocks first thing ill be doing is polishing the shafts.

Have you switched to the taller Gelande 2 front shock hoops?

Yes I posted that in the OP. Fortunately the truck came with them when I bought it. Also moved the 90mm up front, and put 90mm on the back. 100mm should be here in a few days

Re: Question about zboxes and revolver shackles

So the combo of Zboxes on the rear of the front springs, revolvers on the rear of the rear springs, 100mm shocks, Chino mod and oring mod, gives me over 4 inches of flex in the rear and just shy of 4 inches in the front. Dual Split Collars on the ends of both front and rear axles for added weight.

Anyone have a comparison with Chino and Oring mod with full zboxes and revolvers?
