| Hello Hua, I was really hoping you would make these tires! One thing though, the lugs seem quite shallow....kinda wimpy for such an aggressive tread design. Do you think you could make the lugs taller/deeper like they are on your 2.2's? They would look Much better and Much beefier that way (more flexible too). PS: I've wanted to mention this to you for a long time. but I just never did. Anyway, and this is off the subject of tires, but could you, or would you consider adding the choice of an optional 17mm or even 23 mm hex size for your narrow 40 series beadlock wheels? This would be a great improvement and extremely helpful for everyone running big, heavy, over-sized, ultra-powerful super scale crawlers that get so much punishment and extreme use all the time. This option would add much more strength in this area of the wheels that it would greatly increase their longevity and reliability. Last, while on the subject of wheels, a new, narrow 40 series wheel, possibly having the same design as your new "Rock Ready" 2.2 wheel with it's 'wide' rock ring design (but with 16 screws) and center hubs, or possibly the classic 8 or 10 hole design with the wider 16 screw rock rings would give us crawlers a wheel having a much more realistic, hard core competition look. Your 40 series Rock Star wheels are really a beautiful design but thats just it, the wheels and rings are too beautiful and 'blingy' to be sought after by most of the hard core, serious, heavy duty rock crawlers out there. This could possibly even be a dedicated 'comp' wheel incorporating the larger hex sizes mentioned above. Lots of requests I know, but thanks for listening Hua....you have always been really good about that! Thanks again Last edited by BeeRC; 01-18-2008 at 09:46 PM. |

Deeper Lugs look more aggressive, but won't help replace the Moabs XL's. | |

| In my opinion the lugs do need to be deeper. As far as the lugs folding over on themselves, these lugs are way too wide for that to be an issue. Look at Huas' Slingers for example, those lugs are very tall but they are also very skinny, so they should be much more prone to folding over, however everyone seems to really love them. In scale pespective, the 1.9" and 2.2" Crushers have much deeper lugs than these tires do, and they have the awesome and 'mean' look that fans have been raving about. I think the the Crusher 40's are also intended to be a very aggressive scale looking tire, more so than something intended to be a full on comp tire that will 'replace the Moabs' or 'Mashers' in that arena. I believe Hua has other tread designs, and possibly compounds, in mind for that purpose. The comp guys will however, appreciate the larger spaces between the lugs that these tires have in the CAD rendering, but I would think more people than not will appreciate the deeper lugs because they better fullfill the gnarly and aggressive look that this design is intended to provide, which will sell them to lots of people. Personally,I like the skinny pizza cutter tires. Like the 38.5 x 11.00 TSL's or Q buckshots (38x10 I'd vote for a 2 1/2"-3" width. Loving the treads here, looks like they'll clean out well. Thats one thing us guys in the south have to deal with. Wet,muddy and moss cover rock. Tires that clean out well are a MUST. | |

| I'd leave the tread depth where it is...any deeper and the trucks power is wasted trying to deflect the tall lugs instead of going right through to the rocks where it's needed. I'd rather stay on the flat of the lugs, then the trailing edges when crawling. |
