We plan to work on these after the Ultimate 1.9 Axle is done, part of our never ending quest for scale and no-body ever done products.

hardcore

is this going to be a super class axle or something smaller?
certainly looks beefy...

love the driveline clearance!

hmm.. that top piece looks complicated to machine, hope you can keep it affordable.
bit to fullsize/heavyweight for my style, but Im sure you will do a good job of it and the super guys might like something bulletproof?

Leo, haha, I knew you will be the first to reply to this. We havnt decided yet, probably more the 2.2 or super class size.

Let me know if you want to be part of the dev/testing team

Also this axle will be even more expensive, if it get made.

I will DEFFINATLY have to pick up a set of these. I would say make them a wider 2.2 size axle, alot like the TXT/Juggernot size to make it look like full width axles under a 1:1. I have the perfect build for these!

That looks pretty nice! If you are going to shoot for 2.2, may I suggest a width somewhere between an Axial and a Wheely King? Just my opinion. Top piece definately looks hard (expensive) to machine. So these will be 6x6 or 8x8 compatible? Looks like it in the first picture.

What's with the second pic? Front axle?

I can see a new project in my future! Definately a military themed vehicle.

Tester needed?

In the first pic, it looks like the axle will engage the output gear similar to the Axial setup. I think splines (much stronger) will be a better choice. Just my opinion.

I want to see a brake disk on the input shaft (pinion) like you see on a lot of 1:1's using these style of axles. Would be awesome! Doesnt have to be functional, just for looks.

That many people use the rotors for brake though? I would be happy if they spin on the shaft, but actual working calipers?

make something different sized than what we already have ie txt and jugg axles. MY OPINION is to keep them TLT sized as you mentioned your "part of our never ending quest for scale and no-body ever done products" make a smaller sized axle as you can always make it wider and it would fit under nearly ANY body.

blow us out of the water with this one guys PLEASE! us scale guys are begging you!

take a look at mountain bike hydraulic disk brakes. it wouldn't be hard to scale down a mtb hydro disk caliper, as they are already pretty small. and if you need something to go off of, the calipers can be had separate from the whole brake system. a chassis mount master cylinder wouldn't be hard to come up with. you could rig it up with seperate master cylinders for the front and rear brake, but make it so that they can be actuated with one servo or two. heck, the master cylinder could be as simple as a shock with a completely solid piston with an o-ring seal around it and a little hose running out one end. simple stuff. plus, this could also see quite a bit of use in other applications if you offer a sizeable rotor. wouldn't it be so awesome to have a full hydraulic inboard brake setup for a MP777 SP2 or a RS4-3 Evo or a Revo? just have the rotor mount on one of the 5mm-6mm adaptors, just sized 5mm-5mm or 6mm-6mm, or the current 5mm-6mm or 6mm-5mm adaptors. people who would only use these on this axle could hack off the un-needed adaptor. of course, a working hydro disk brake setup for the rwd trophy truck builds would be great, too. an alloy knuckle with the caliper mount wouldn't be hard to make, and a smaller rotor with a stickier brake pad, a larger pad, more pistons or bigger pistons should be enough to haul a trophy truck build down from speed. the rear could just use the pinion brake setup. oh the possibilities. a RWD, direct drive truck with 4 wheel hydraulic braking. or a RWD stadium truck with 4 wheel braking. that could be a real performance advantage.

The size is going to be the big factor. 2.2 or Super is a Big difference. I think you would sell many more if you kept them as 2.2's. No Wider then WK and No Smaller the Axials. They look nice.... Will they come in Black plastic?

Why not have a super and a 2.2 size axle and then they both could use the same gear section.

The problem is that the ESC has a brake. You need need a 3rd channel to run these brakes, and it would be all or nothing braking. unless you ran a Y harness and had a servo there to opperate at all time in forward and reverse, would take some dialing in to get it to work properly. I think you would have more luck with a simple caliper and rod setup like on nitros than with hydraulic brakes.

You couldnt even use it for dig unless there was a way to disconnect the shaft at teh same time.

these are awesome I am gonna put another vote in for between axial and WK for width.. mud boggers will look insane with this axle. I would go straight to plastic on this beast to. all machined out in aluminum it will cost as much as a real rockwell, it would be worth it. but you could sell allot more if you do them in plastic.

and guys the brake disk should be cake look at the first pick they have two drive yokes on it now. not hard to but a disk on there a spinning washer shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

6x6 with rockwells O my
