I know this is probably a dumb question BUT...
Is the trans set up so that the front dig can be engaged in the brake mode while still applying power to the rear axle and vice versa? the free wheel setting is that designed to operate with either the front or rear as well?
sorry for the lame question.. I just am wondering about the setup..
thanks for your time!

I think that is a great idea, but that is gonna make some chassis' more cramped than they already are

Yup, it is going to take some manuvering to get the servos and everything in there, but if you want all advantages then your going to have to do some work.

Or buy a set of Bullys and two $5 switches

This might be a better idea than the losi tranny. It will require 4 channels but from what i have seen and read the losi doesnt have freewheel on either end because of the worm drives. I think ill have to get one of these and rebuild a shafty. I have some fully built tlt's here that have never been off the bench. And i love my bullys with dig switches, lol.

Nice work RC4WD

Why would you need 4 channels? One servo does the dual dig.

Due to the configuration of where the end points would need to be. It would be quite the task to get one servo to do everything.

If someone can think of a method that a 3 channel would work then they have more creativity then I do at this point

Doesn't bother me all that much, 4PK would have it handled

You could to it with 3 channels in theory. In execution the linkages etc would have to be very precise and setup would be a labor of love. I'm not really sre how to explain it. Think about the throttle/brake servo on a nitro car. The collars on the shaft allow it to have free spaces setup and springs to keep the opposite side where it needs to be. I plan on getting one of these eventually just to mess with the losi guys and rebuild a shafty so ill try to post up some setup on them. You would still need a high end 3 channel radio with plenty of setup variables to set your dig on a 3 position rocker on your radio with 5 steps (front lock, front freewheel, 4wd, rear freewheel, rear lock).

Or use it in conjunction with the worminator axles and eliminate freewheel but have dig on both ends with a normal dig channel setup.

I was hoping RC4WD would use the enclosed digs on this as a final product. Any chances of being able to get the enclosed dig parts seperatley for this bad boy?

Theory, yes possible. Reality, I don't expect to see it.

What about doing it with a proportional 3rd channel like on the Hitec Pro Car Eclipse handset. Just mark out the positions on the dial and run a slightly longer servo arm.

I'm going to do it just to prove it can be done.

You dont get out much do ya? It is very possible to do it, and I have proved that! If you wanna make it work, you gotta work...No need for a 4ch radio, my dx3r gets the jon done flawlessly, the only thing I have that I want to do different is a little stiffer spring, but it shifts when I want it to, and goes back to 4wd when I want it to...

How are you getting all the positions with a DX3R?

are there any servo mounts offered for this? or willl the regular r2d mounts & linkages work?

I would like to run dual servos to use 4wd, as well as front & rear with both locked and freespool digs. I have a 7ch remote... and been looking for something to use that 7th channel

What's the release date for these? I need to get a tranny soon so I can finish my build... Or have these already been released and you're sold out already? If so, when will you be getting more in? (pm me if there's any chance of getting an early set to test and demo for you guys )

The original mount would work. As for 2 servo's. Right now that would be a fab on your own. RC4WD doesn't offer a dual servo mount as of yet.

7 channels. How you keep them all straight.

From my understanding they have shipped some and are making some more. Sold out right now. E-mail RC4WD and they will let you know an estimate of when they will be ready for shipment.

Thanks. Email sent.

I haven't actually completed my new crawler yet to test out the new 7ch remote. It will definitely be interesting. I have 6 of the channels planned for use right now (esc, F&R steer, F&R suckdown winches, & regular digs). I was thinking what to use the 7th channel for... I was going to just throw some led rocklights on it to use up the ch7, but dual digs would be a much better use of it!

A friend of mine is selling his regular R2d, so I'm trying to figure out if I should just get his, or wait for the dual dig if it won't be too long.
