Default Prototype Tester Needed

We are looking for one person who has good product testing experience. He must have a faily powerful crawler truck and ability to a good report.

The product that we need some beta testing is a Ultra Compact Gear Reduction Unit, it attach directly to a 540 motor. The gear ratio will be 5:1.

The actual product will look much different than the picture above, we should have a CNC machined version done by late next week. We expect to send the prototype to the test person by end of the month.

If you are interested, please reply back to this post. Post a picture of your truck without the body and some specification on the ESC and motor.

not exactly the respnse you are looking for but would it be possible to attach a revolver to it. that could be a killer setup cause there shorter than a standard 540 can. what amount of reduction are you looking at?

i would love to test these as i wanted to get the old style but heard horror stories about bent shafts.

i run alot of your other products on my clod. i am very well capable of a complete and competant right up. also we crawl every weekend so they will get used, and probably abused.

currently running: rebel2, 55t's, tq3 modded, rc4wd nuckles, axle shafts, 8 and 9 tooth, NN chassis, maximizers with rr's, adjustable motormounts.

I'm in if you need someone. I have a TXT crawler that I just ordered a lathe for. I would be more than willing to hold off on the lathe and run this for awhile.

Let me know.

I've tested all my own trucks.
If I lock out the slipper it snaps axles on cammand. That is powerfull enough in my book. Outrunner brushless with quark esc, FM radio, and metal gear servo. I welded the diff gears so ther is no chance of breaking the center diff loose.

Cole82, I think we like your setup.

Please email us your address to rcrock(at)gmail.com. We will send you the GRU around the week of 25th. We probably will overnight you and we hope you can give us some feedback within 2-3 days. We will need you to send us back the prototype and once we have the production version ready, we will send you a set for free.

Also your truck, is that a stampede tranny and TLT-1 right? Why dont you tell us the length of your shaft, so we can hook you up with some punisher shaft too for testing.

22th, probably not. I might get it done by on that day, but it wont reach you that fast. We need to test it out self too. And take some pics for everybody to enjoy.

This is a very complex project. First is the aluminum housing, then there are 5 tiny gears inside to reduce the gear ratio. Each gear are CNC machined out of a very hard steel. Then there is also a middle plate and 2 shafts. Our goal is still bring the price down to $30-40 range.

We have been working a lots of overnight on this, I will keep everybody update on the status.

run2jeepn, sorry we no longer need more tester.

But check our forum often, we plan to this a lot down the road.

We probably will be posting another one for testing our next generation M3 rodend, clod drive shaft and axle tube, around the first week of next month.

one question I have is that you stated the the gear reduction would be a 1:5.........If this was the the case would it be a speed multiplier not a reducer? so it should be a 5:1 reduction then? Also stated the it has "two stages" and five gears inside this also would be called a plaetary gear set. If this is the case with what you have talked about it would have a gear reduction of 48:1 or a 64:1 reduction. With the picture you have I would have to guess it is the 48:1. I have also been looking at going with planatarty get setup and am using it in my Nitro Crawler set up. I am testing a few differant setups.

They are a 36mm set and a 42mm set The 36 is a 48:1 and the 42 is a 64:1 reduction. I dont mean toi bust anybodyschops here.
Any Questions feel free to ask

My bad, I was thinking to write 5:1 Gear Reduction, not 1:5.

Those pictures your found, they do sell something that has a output shaft that is exactly the same as the one found on 540. That way people can mount regular pinion gears. The reason we started this project is because we didn't see anything like that on the market.
