The gears look beefy, I like it. Are the outputs going to be 5mm? Either way I will be ordering one early next month. I like the mounting options as well.

Yes 5mm.

The new steel Punisher Shaft for R1 & TLT-1 axle should be ready to ship next week as well.

Production version will look exactly the same, but have much better finish.

Will the tranny include bearing, or will they be an option?

I will confirm about this later on in the afternoon. If you look at our R1 transmission, it had full ball bearing. So I would imagine R2 should too, it make no sense selling people an optional bearing package.

what's up with the output shaft sticking out 3 more inches than the oposite side? The cover plate how come it has the cutouts?

The shaft is long, so the prop shaft wont hit the motor. People can cut it shorter if they need to.

The extra hole is originally designed for mounting the motor, but looks like maybe it's not neccessary.

Those cutouts will allow for mesh adjustment if needed, without having to take the tranny appart. Would be nice to have a lexan window as well to see the mesh, but its not needed.

Initially we wanted to make the entire cover out of a piece of lexan, but then we realize it might not be strong enough over a long period of time.

We will look into making a clear dusk cover, it might be available after we we release the R2.

How about some holes drilled through the output shafts. That way we can use the set screws that are more of a pin that go through the shaft when using Traxxas yokes and shafts. They work much better than just the 2 set scews.

Also, Any plans to make a transmission built for speed? I have a project I am currently working on and am having trouble finding the right transmission, so I began building my own. Im using maxx differentials, with independant suspension front and rear.

Etype R, yes.

Mirage, can you measure really quick exactly where you want to drill a hole. I havn't had any e-maxx related parts for a while. And the diamter of the hole too.

a transmission built for speed? Like a 1:4?

Here is a link to tower showing the outputs of a traxxas stampede.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKMJ8&P=0

A flat spot on both sides, and a hole drilled for a set pin. I am at work right now, and cannot get the measurements until later tonight.

Im thinking more towards the stampede shafts than maxx shafts. I would take a measurement, But I dont have the means of doing so very accuratly at the moment. I tried with a ruler, but its not going to work well enough, maybe someone else can measure better.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJJ20&P=M they use an old picture though, a screw no longer goes in the end, and there is a hole that goes all the way through shaft.

Hopefully someone else can chime in and give some pics or measurements.

I will PM you about the transmission for my other project.
