I was wondering if you can use the axial front axle with the servo moved to the side and batt on the front axle? Will there be enough room for articulation or will it hit the chassis when flexing?

Turn'Nburn 01-08-2010 10:00 AM

with the suspension fully compressed the servo sits between two frame rails. if you move the servo to the side and mount the batt next to it, they will probably interfere with the chassis as the suspension articulates.

My wreckluse will be here 1/12/10 cant wait to build it . Im using LNC axles and trans for my build.

A: Depends if you're using 1.9 or 2.2 Tires/Wheels. Keep in mind there is no "Wrong" or "Right" length since it's subjective. Here's what we've found to be the best using our Universal Servo/Link Mounts: (Lengths are the measurement of the link itself not eye-to-eye of the rod ends)

-2.2"
Front Upper - 55mm
Front Lower - 70mm
Rear Upper - 70mm
Rear Lower - 70mm

OK. I made my own links, and matched your dimensions posted here. They came out pretty good for home made links, but I'm curious about your "Universal Servo / Link Mounts."

Does it keep the 3 Link set up in the front which accounts for the 15 mm shorter link up top in the front?

I used the four link adapters that came with my SCX 10 in the rear, and the stock 3 Link set up in the front. I have only minor rubbing (about 1 to 2 mm) of my servo horn on the frame during full compression. We all know that you seldom experience a true full compression though, so it's not an issue.

Do you have any pics of your universal mounts and the upper links front and rear? I'm interesting in going with Axial made links and your universal plates if I like them.

You should be able to use everything exceot for your links those come with the plastic links. The links will be way to long, and the links are pretty weak to begin with.I would upgrade and buy the axial metal links and ball ends.

TrailDawg362 06-23-2010 11:32 PM

8-32 all-thread with Jato rod ends sleeved with tubing works great also "thumbsup".

It's a heavy chassis so the extra strength of the above setup helps make it almost bullet proof.

kmoore 06-25-2010 11:48 PM

i just got 1 of these in a trade. only thing it didn't come with a skid plate. can i order 1 separate?

Has anyone had trouble with setting the pinion angle so that the drivelines don't hit the skid.

ZoSo 12-18-2010 09:02 AM

yes... depending on the ride height

dremel away the skid plate where the shaft hits.

Axial32 01-01-2011 05:00 PM

I just got my wreckluse in the mail and saw this thread but I still have a questions. Will the wheelbase be at 12.5" with 55mm front upper links and 70mm lower and rear upper links? "thumbsup"

I used a Dremel sanding drum to nicely bevel out a clearance channel for the driveshaft. Mark both sides where it hits the skid, and angle a groove into the material "thumbsup"

x2:)

3jeeps 03-03-2011 04:06 PM

X3 I tried to inboard my lower links but didn't cut it right. I might be able to clean up my cuts but a new skid would be great esp. with the links inboarded. I've put my wreckluse on the back burner for a while but I'm about ready to start to work on it soon. Let us know if you do, thanks"thumbsup"

Axial32 03-10-2011 10:54 AM

Hey does anyone know what size hex screws they use for the body panels? I'm in need of a few

Hey ZoSo-Wondering if you guys can or would do a run of replacement body panels, less the hood? I know I could cut some from flat lexan, but I'd rather just buy factory fresh pieces. Thanks!

Not to beat a dead horse, but I've been asking the same question for awhile now. Yes, I know I could buy a body for about $28 and hack it up for a hood (and throw away the rest?). And yes I know I could cut my own panels (but not as neatly). Would it really be that big of a deal to sell the replacements? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I just can't understand why it's so hard to offer them for sale. I love my Wreckluse, but it's getting pretty beat up and needs some new skins.
