so far....key words. I had to Weld another bastard back up. You would think for the price they could use some 10G tabs so they could get decent pen. on their welds or get a better welder that knows how to properly fuse a joint. If your welder wants to call me i teach a local class at a Jr. college and pipe weld and fab for a living so pm me and let me know.

i just tried to install a behind the axle steer kit and it didnt fit. the front stocks are a bit to "vertical" for the linkage to perform correctly. has anyone else tried the BAS system with success?

thanks Rockpiledriver. the link is pretty good for the most part. i would like to see a build thread because i am pretty new at a complete build. a have an artr and took it apart to mount it to a bastard chassis but still have ?.mounted stock shocks and the articulation seems alittle less than when it was on factory chassis. i do still have the 3 link front and rear but i am going to change it to 4 link rear with a tcs link plate. will this help or do you think i need different shock, maybe shorter? thanks again. links to build threads please.

this tuber is very lightweight and being top heavy is no issue. on a side note, i took my bastard to 1st place at our local tuesday night comp. each week this truck(and my driving) get better and better. |

IMO this chassis really excels with a "LIGHT" rig set-up!.......

| I wasn't going to wait. I found just cuting some aluminum panels to be better for mounting stuff anyway. The receiver is under the hood and the ESC mounts NICE with velcro under the rear overhead panel. I'm also running the front uppers out board the chassis and redrilling the servo plate to spread the links further apart just enough to let the chassis fit between the links during compression. So far, it's working very well but I was hoping to be able to fit the dig mounted mini servo on the VF in to it. Oh well. |

So would it be safe to say the hoods are not coming?

| Bastard help
I just got a bastard chassis - i am new to crawling and could use a ltttle bit of guidence in building this - i have the front end done axels and stright links still have to droop the shocks all 4 - now on to the problem i am having the rear - cant get the axel to sit with the pinion poining at the trans without using 1 3/4 of shims on the tri link and it looks wrong to me - does anyone have some pictures to share with a decent way to put this together - i have a lot of pictures saved with other builds like mine but not all are the same and most dont show the link setup clearly - should i run the front links inside outside of the chassis and whaer is it best to mount them on the axel - should i ditch the tri link and go 4 link - bent links where and stright links where - can ya tell i need some help - thanks chris |

you will have to swith your rear upper links to a 4 link. make or buy links to get the correct length to have the pinion pointing at the tranny. you should be able to leave the front upper tri link as it came out of the box, mounted inside the chassis.

a 25mm axial spacer (axa1422 or equivilent) and a 3mm x 20 mm set screw. The 25mm spacer goes in between the upper link mount and the Y adapter on the rear axle.

what length stand offs do I need for the chassis, if I don't have an axial to rob parts from?
