Second question is, if I buy the Wheely King ring and pinion(and TLT), am I safe to assume that I will not have to bother with shimming. They are beautiful parts.
No current plans for WK tranny gears.

Our ring and pinions are designed to work without any shims. But, Just like any gear-set 1:1 or R/C there are tolerances with not only the gears themsleves, but also the housings and bearings. Shimming, if neccesssary, to achieve optiumum gear mesh is always a good idea.

The "Up" position on the C is stock. The "down" position brings the pinion more parrallel to the ground for improved drive line angle on scale builds or builds requiring less angle.

How much would you say, 'more parallel to the ground' is?

I'd say about 20 degree difference. Still pointing up ever so slightly.

So it makes the pinion parallel to the ground, thank you. It would be nice if you made a set that splits the difference and gives a ten degree pinion tilt up for comp use running droop setup.

The HPI forum would be a start. Or the front page of the site.

Default MIP CVD's and stainless ring and pinion

I am having a little trouble getting the cvd's and the ring and pinion to fit properly . I took a few pictures to show what i'm talking about.
If i'm doing it wrong please set me straight. Thanks.
The first picture shows how far the cvd sticks out from the end of the axle.

This picture shows the the groove for the E-clip is on the outside of the bearing instead of the inside.

Here it is with the bearing installed.

The last picture is just a shot of the entire axle. The one side fits perfectly ,but the other seems to be off by the added thickness of the ring gear.

Help......

You may have a defective R&P. PM me to sort this out. In the meantime you can try tapping it in with a hammer but you should wait if possible.

I have a few quick questions:

1) Are you gonna be carrying the new RC4wd "Rock Stomper" tires? If so, any ETA on these?

2) When will you have more of the JP Clod knuckles with CVD ball bearings?

3) Are the ThunderTech CVD's a "Drop-in" upgrade for stock clod components, or do they require differnt knuckle bearings?

Thanx.

Well, I値l start with my question first. What springs should be or can be used on the 3.5 inch Traxxas Ultra Shocks? I知 looking at running them on my K2 to get a bit more travel. Suggestions and/or part numbers would be great.
Now the suggestion, I know a lot of folks use the HPI stock car wheels on their scale builds as well as the Tamiya Hummer wheels. Is there any chance that you値l carry either of them, as well as other select 1.9 wheels for the scale builders?

Thanks

-Not sure, we hope to make another RC4WD very soon but their stock could be out by then.
2) When will you have more of the JP Clod knuckles with CVD ball bearings?
-We have no plans to reorder any JP products at this time.
3) Are the ThunderTech CVD's a "Drop-in" upgrade for stock clod components, or do they require differnt knuckle bearings?
-The Thunder Tech CVD's come with the bearings necessary for the installation. We are out of stock and have been informed TT will not have more until first of 2008 :(
Thanx.

Most people use the traxxas #4957 springs that come stock with the T/Emaxx. It really is a personal preference choice though.

The Hpi stock car wheels should be up on the site within the week.
