I took work off today, and still missed the mailman! I knew I shouldn't have run out to get that mocha. Now I'm counting the hours until monday morning, 9:00am sharp.
Everything will be fine, as long as I can keep my 9yr old daughter from breaking her axles at the ORCRC comp sunday.

Got them installed and I love the extra steering.

A little grinding on the alum knuckles and it steers great.

Mine arrived today, and are installed. The steering is fantastic, even without making ANY changes to my setup... can't wait to getting around to resetting the EPA.

One question. I am running RC4WD beadlocks, and the spacer with the small hex setup does not work with them, the whole assembly locks up tight and the wheel won't spin. I got it work by using the larger hex (which I didn't want to do), but can you offer any advice on this?

Got mine and installed today. They work great with the Axial 2.2s.

Just a note to everyone that has to shave their aluminum knuckles, aluminum dust is bad to breath in...I remembered that while on the second knuckle and right about when I was done with it...

Received my CVD'S today What can I say, the fit and finsh is GREAT. Can't wait to run them in the comp on Sunday, the added steering and strength I know I am going to love.

Thanks RCP for the GREAT Products and Service

I don't know if it is just the beadlocks, but more likely all RC4WD wheels, but the thin hex in the CVD kit is so thin it drops down inside the hex hole in the wheel. The wheel is able to tighten down on the knuckle when the bolt is tightened down. This locks up the wheel so it won't spin.

Quick fix...

A minute with a Dremel cut-off wheel and I shaved down the hex hole on the wheels a bit, now everything moves and clears perfectly.

Can you post some pics to help explain it little better for those that run into the same problem?

Mixing different manufacturers parts almost always asks for mods, here is what I am talking about. Fat Rocks and run2jeepn knuckles with RCP CVD's and RC4WD wheels.

This first pic shows the wide hex installed. No problems at all, I just like my truck narrow.

Here is with the thin hex installed. The wheel hex hole completely swallows it and you can see the wheel is pressed into the knuckle, locking everything up.

After I figured out what was happening, I ground down the lip around the hex hole in the wheel, now it works as intended. This is the narrow hex, with the wheel modified.

Hope this helps someone!

You beat me to it J, here it is anyway 1 solution is the same the other is a simple washer

hope it helps,

Devlin

Mine are insatalled and I figured out the problem with the smaller hex.
You need to face about a 1/16th" off of the hex on the wheel or put a washer between the small hex and the wheel. The milled hex on the wheel is deeper than the small hex spacer and causes binding on between the wheel and the hub.

yeah, i would have gone with the washer over cutting down on some 100+ wheels. the washer is easily reversable

Ah, no biggie. I didn't have to grind off much, and they will still work on any other rig.

ok, yeah, that was my concern. awhile ago i picked up some tamiya alu clamp type hubs new and dirt cheap, when i got em they were thinner than a typical hub and i ended up just popping some 1mm washer/shims on each then the tire and it fit fine.

and in the bag they'll stay until the SS R&P's are available.

I would like to buy some spare parts for these. Any thoughts on if you might offer that?

I would like:

New joint pins (incase I lose or break one)
extra bearings (for spares)
Maybe the drive pins as well

Please let me kow if you will be offering any parts.

Thanks
