| R.E.C.O.N. Adventure Series R.E.C.O.N. Adventure Series. The R.E.C.O.N. Adventure Series is a 2.2 class r/c rock crawling points race that will start a driver, no matter what part of the country they reside, on a six month competition adventure. There is no cost to participate, just some driver responsibility. A Driver that participates in the Adventure Series is requiered to post a link in the “R.A.S.” forum to the results of a comp that they attended. The Driver will receive a score based on the overall finishing position. For example: If the comp that the driver attends has 20 competitors and the participating driver finishes 1st; that driver will receive 20 points. The same driver finishes last at the same comp; that driver will receive 1 point. A driver can accumulate more points by attending more comps in their surrounding areas. A driver can accumulate more points by attending comps with more competitors. There are comp requirements that must be met for the comp to qualify as a R.A.S. points scoring comp. - The event must be posted, (flier optional), in the RCC Competition section. The results must also be posted in the RCC results section. - If a clubs preference is to hold a comp at the same location, for what ever reason, then a minimum time of 3 weeks between comps is required. A weekly comp series/league are not eligible for R.A.S. points. - A comp must have a minimum of 10 competitors. Driver requirements: - Any 2.2 driver willing to “do work” is eligible. - A driver is responsible for posting the required links to the event that they attend. - A driver does not need to be an R.E.C.O.N. member to participate. Memberships are available and will qualify a driver for ALL the membership benefits. Membership link: http://www.reconcrawlers.com/ How the R.A.S. works: - A driver competes in 2.2 r/c crawling competitions anywhere and everywhere. - The more comps the driver attends or the more competitors at a comp will increase the amount of points a driver can earn. - After the R.A.S. scorekeeper receives the driver’s comp results, the points will be posted so the drivers participating can track their current standings. - There is no limit on the number of comps that a driver may compete in during the six month period, just as long as the comps meet R.A.S. comp requirements. - R.A.S. at the end of six months, will take the best seven over all results from each driver and that will determine the final score. In the event of a tie, the next best comp result will be used to break the tie and if need be, continue until the tie score is broken. R.E.C.O.N. Adventure Series Awards. - 1st place finish for a non-member driver will be the exclusive R.A.S. trophy and a paid invite to the 2010 West Coast Championships.* The driver will also receive a RECON Adventure Series drivers shirt with the drivers name on the shirt and his/her sponsors. - 1st place finish for an R.E.C.O.N. member** driver will be the exclusive R.A.S. trophy. A paid trip to the 2010 West Coast Championships*, this includes up to $500 dollars towards airfare or gas, lodging, an award dinner for two, entry into the event, and transportation to and from airport. As well as a RECON Adventure Series drivers shirt with drivers name, club name, (if applicable), RECON Chapter name, (if applicable), and a list of the winning drivers sponsors logos, (if applicable). - 2nd place: R.A.S. series t-shirt and pendant. - 3rd place: R.A.S. series t-shirt and pendant. - 4th place: R.A.S. series t-shirt and pendant. - 5th place: R.A.S. series t-shirt and pendant. * For a non member driver to receive the paid invite, driver must attend the 2010 A.W.C.C. * For a member to receive the trip benefits, the driver must attend the 2010 A.W.C.C. and show travel expenses for flight/gas to the event. **A driver must be a RECON member by the end of The R.E.C.O.N. Adventure Series will begin on Good luck to the 2.2 class drivers that seek the adventure of competition. The R.A.S. points race will be a journey into the r/c crawling world worth embarking on. Thanks, gang. The Adventure has started and every driver is a pioneer. (I'm just glad we have great r/c crawlers, because Competing with r/c covered wagons would be a little tough. I am not sure how to set up the foams of a "wooden wheel") |

A membership is not only good for the the RECON Adventure Series; the family membership is good for all the RECON perks. For example, you win a local comp and your a RECON member/Team Driver, you notify your Chapter Club Contact and you recieve a 1st place dog tag. A member also recieves discounts, (where available), lower shwag prices, and lower comp fees, (where comp fees are charged). I hope this aswers your question, if not pm me. Thanks for your interest in the R.A.S. Adventure has a name......R.E.C.O.N. Parker

Thank you for the reply Parker. I understand it, just thought you had to be a member to compete in the Adventure series.

No Problem. The beauty of the Adventure Series is that you can compete from anywhere in the country. Very little requirements and whole lot of fun! Even though my points are just bragging rights; it has impacted my comp schedule. This is the 5th weekend in a row that I've shared comp time with some of the best drivers west of the Mississippi and another dbl header planned on the 24th & 25th.....Ohhh Myyy, Do work Driver. |

This is such a cool idea. Now you can be rewarded for attending comps outside of your regular club series! Anyone in SF Bay Area/Peninsula please PM me if you are interested in chapter RECON membership.

To quote a good friend, "Rocktober" is in full effect. I want to wish all the R.A.S. drivers good luck in the comps that you are competing in: Crawlapalooza/Outcastapalooza at Disney, OK Hobbytown Crawl for Cash at Concord, CA 801rcc Utah State Championships at St. George, UT R.E.C.O.N. Sub Zero Series rnd 1 at Winnemucca, NV "DO WORK, DRIVERS" and take what the course gave you! |
