R.E.C.O.N. G6 Challenge “Joker’s Wild”

When: Saturday July 30th, 2011
Where: Exact location will be announced 24hrs prior to stage start. Cisco Grove Campgrounds, CA will be the host/lodging for this G6.

Here is the location and directions from Reno, NV and Sacramento, CA. Remember to pay for your day use permit at the campground store before you head to G-Central. Please park on the left side of the road.

There will be signs from the store to G-Central. Follow the signs / ribbon. Drive careful and godspeed!

This area is closed to all G6'ers until 0600hrs Saturday morning.

Tech: 0800hrs. All vehicles will be impounded immediately. All vehicles that do not pass tech will receive a time penalty. Tech will remain open until 0845hrs.
Start Time: Stage start time will follow the National Anthem. No late starts!
What: 3 stage G6 Challenge featuring new terrain and poker run for all 1.9 r/c scalers and Axial Wraith drivers.
G-Lunch: Trail dogs, chips, and oranges.
G-Fee: $20
Cisco Grove day use fee: $5

Note: Camping is available. RECON will be camping Friday night and can be found in section B, site 27.

The RECON G6 Challenge “Joker’s Wild” is an odyssey into 1.9 r/c scale adventure. The Joker’s Wild G6 will have a 200 TM stage and two 50 TM stages. Each stage will be laced with mandatory skill sections, time bonuses, and be unequaled in scale adventure. The Joker’s Wild will also include a poker run as part of the stages, see details below.

G6’ers gear up and prep those G-Rides, the G-Train is boarding and we’re going back to Cali, Cali. We’re going back to Cali, for some G6 fun; bring your scaler and come get some!

Joker’s Wild G6 1.9 G-Ride requirements;
- 1.9 scale tires only. Must meet G6 guidelines for scale tires.
- A minimum of 10 scale items attached to vehicle.
- Mandatory tow strap. This item will be used several times during each stage.
- Winch is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
- Sand ramps are not mandatory, but highly recommended.
- A spare tire is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
- A Dr. Pepper for G-Central is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
- A scale boat that floats is not mandatory, but highly recommended for one stage. This item must be attached to the vehicle and must stay attached during one stage and may or may not be used for a time bonus section. Pulling a boat with a trailer is acceptable and so are scale inner tubes or rafts attached to the vehicle.

Joker’s Wild G6 Axial Wraith requirements;
- 1.9 or 2.2 scale tires only. Must meet G6 guidelines for scale tires.
- A minimum of 5 scale items. All scale items found on a stock Wraith will not count as any of the 5 scale items.
- Tow strap is mandatory and will be used during each stage.
- A spare tire is not mandatory, but highly recommended.

Joker’s Wild G6 Stage previews;
- The Main Stage will be a 200 TM (trail markers) and will feature several check points to test driver’s navigational skills, several mandatory skill sections, and a time bonus.
- The first Sub Stage will be a 50 TM and a driver can expect mandatory skill sections along with several check points and some unique stage adventures.
- The second Sub Stage will be a 50 +/- TM and an optional time bonus for those drivers that meet the requirement. There will also be a mandatory skill section that may have drivers going nuts or at least dragging a tree or two. Check points along this stage will keep drivers sense of direction keen.
- Start Alley will have drivers starting 3 at a time from the start box and then off to their assigned stage for unsurpassed adventure.

Joker’s Wild G6 Poker Run intel;
- A driver will be dealt two cards at tech and after the completion of each stage; a driver will be dealt another card. When a driver completes all the G6 stages, a driver will be given the chance to “stand pat” on their 5 card hand or throw away 1-3 cards and get them replaced with an equal number of cards from the top of the deck.
- The winning hand will be awarded the first ever G6 Poker Run Award.

RECON is excited to host another G6 Challenge in a great scale location. For those drivers that have not experienced a G6, what are waiting for? The G6 is a genre of r/c scale adventure that is like no other. Whether you are new to the scale r/c scene or a seasoned vet, the G6 will test your driving ability and your vehicles capability like no other scale challenge, period.

Why is the 2.2 class called the Wraith class? Is it the only 2.2 scaler allowed?

I think its a Wraith Class and not 2.2 class.
I'd like to be able to enter my honcho with my 2.2 Flat Irons like last time.
But other wise I'm going for new tires for my rig.

I think it should just be a 1.9 and a 2.2 class. Not a wraith only class
