Has anyone narrowed down the details on this event? I see a lot of other events are all set up, but the Fowl Play is still TBA.

If you've never driven thru an onion field, you will be crying to see the lines!

Unless your Dan Wilson, he is used to given his rigs the "onion" to make lines.

You have heard it here first....Paulina / East Lake area is the location. Exact location is pending, but rest assured, this location is "volcanic".

Its about 35-40 minutes from Bend. So far from what i can guess, head south from Bend take a left on road 21 to Newberry Crater. From there it depends on the spot he picks. It's a nice area to play... we are making a double black diamond jeep/buggy trail up there and i am helping Brent our forest service rep GPS over 2,000 miles of SXS trails.

There are two or three campgrounds there. Might be a hotel in La pine.

Brian it looks like most camp grounds shut down this weekend? Can you confirm?

Lapine is very close, about 10 miles away. There are quite a few camping spots that are on the way there. The six mile snow part is where i unload my SXS all the time. It is paved and there are bathrooms and it is free. It's about 5 miles from palina lake.

Two of them say late sept 28th closing. So we would be fine to stay till sunday. the other two are open till late oct.

Little Crater Campground is open until mid October, but is first come first serve since they do not do reservations at this campground, but it is deemed one of the best in the area.

All local knowledge is appreciated.


I am never concerned about weather. It's part of the adventure, but for those interested, average day temps is September for Paulina Lake is 79 degrees with an overnight low of 49.

Just placed my final oreder from RPP sooooo it's game on. If anyone needs some info about the area shoot me a message. There are some real nice camping areas with small streams just off the road about 4 miles in.
